Briefing note

What’s e-portfolio?
E-portfolio is an electronic collection of artifacts to display your achievements and reflections of commitment.
It helps you to develop and promote your ability and express talents to potential employer. You may adjust
the contents to fit for your target audience every time.

What’s “Preparation of E-portfolio” (CA)?


This assignment mainly serves as a platform for practicing to make an E-portfolio. You are strongly advised
to make another one, which is tailor-made for your potential employer(s), as a tool of job-hunting, if
necessary. Please follow the instructions on page 2 to complete the CA.

What I will learn through preparing the e-portfolio?


 Develop as a reflective and self-directed lifelong learner;
 Enhance the technology skills using in job hunting; and
 Acquire and apply the self-branding concept and related skills.

5 steps to prepare your E-portfolio?


Step 1: Select WIX, Google site or Sway as the E-portfolio platform (Using Online platform is a MUST).

Step 2: You may name your site/ page and collect artifacts of your work, for example, PowerPoint,
presentations, mindmaps, photos, videos, etc. For privacy reason, artifacts which are too personal or
sensitive should NOT be included in this assignment.

Step 3: Design your e-portfolio which looks best to you. You could include text, images or videos as
appropriate. Choose or make your own template which is easy to read.

Step 4: Your involvement in co-curricular activities such as personal development activities, career-related
activities or sports events that can show your competencies, such as leadership, time management,
teamwork and interpersonal communication, etc. Remember to show the linkage between your learning
from activities and your competencies.

Step 5: Prepare your own reflection as a self-reflective and self-directed learner about the activities
participated and share them in your E-portfolio.

1. Remember to complete ALL the Parts (Part A, B, C and D) in English or else you will seriously lose the marks.
2. ZERO mark for the whole assignment if student does NOT use an online platform to complete this assignment.
3. A Moodle package “Preparation of e-portfolio” is ready as self-study package for students to prepare.

Part A Career Goal and Career Plan (10%)
Format: Written or 1-2 minutes video/ audio tape

Identify your Career Goal and Career Plan with clear and detailed explanation.
For example, What is your career goal and how you can achieve it?

Part B Performing as a reflective lifelong learner (in workplace context or for the workplace in
the future) (10%)
Format: Written

Please share your learning from working experience (part/full-time), activities, hobbies, etc.,
and how to prepare yourself for the challenges in workplace.
For example, you can summarize what you learnt in the career talk and how the learning can
cope with the challenges facing in the workplace in the future.

Part C Performing as a self-directed lifelong learner (to formulate a personal development plan)
(10%)
Format: Written

Please share your detailed personal development plan with reason.


For example, you want to be a yoga tutor in leisure time. Please let us know your reason
and how you may achieve it with time frame.
Part D Self-branding (Overall impression and image) (10%)

1) As a whole, e-portfolio should be presented in systematic, decent, and unique way with
personal style by illustrating your strength(s), personality, value/ belief/ vision. Relevant
artifacts should be also provided to impress your target audience.
2) It is an overall impression of the E-portfolio.

How to submit?
Step 1: Capture the image of all the pages of your E-portfolio and paste to a PowerPoint/ PDF file
Step 2: Paste the link of your E-portfolio at the end of the PowerPoint/ PDF file
Step 3: Upload the PowerPoint or PDF file
