In 1765 the Stamp Act was passed, this was an Act that imposed a tax on the british
colonies in America. This meant that all printed documents such as legal documents that
the American colonies used had to have Britain’s official stamp (all pieces of paper the
colonists used were taxed by the British).

The American Revolution was a conflict between 13 British colonies that took place
between 1775 and 1783. The cause of the American Revolution was thought to be French
and Indian War, where the French power was replaced by Great Britain’s power.

The Famous quote “The British are Coming” took place in Lexington Massachusetts and
the man behind the famous quote is a man named Paul Revere. Paul rode an estimated
total of 12.5 miles from Boston to Lexington.

Paul Revere was born on January 1, 1735 in Boston Massachusetts, his famous ride was
on April 16, 1775. In 1776 Revere was put in command of the Boston Harbor’s principal
defense at Castle William, he died on May 10,1818 of Natural Causes.

The Indians were at peace amongst each other and amongst their white neighbors until a
little before the revolutionary war broke out. Before the revolutionary war broke out the Indians
were sent by the people of the united states to go to the german flats.

In this book I learned a ton about the what was happening in the world around the time of
the American Revolution, I learned some names I think I hadn’t seen before such as
General Howe along with names I did know for sure such as General Washington. I
didn’t read the whole book but I did skim through most of the pages and found some
interesting facts.

This website contains all kinds of information such as facts that you probably didn’t
know such as how General Benedict Arnold began the Revolutionary War as one of its
earliest heroes but nowadays he’s seen as a traitor to the American cause. The website
lso contains other information like how on July 4, 1776 the Continental Congress voted
to adopt the Declaration of Independence.

The early stages of the war were British military victories and Moral Triumphs for
America. The Battle of Bunker Hill is one of the battles that the British won but the
Americans saw it as a big and important Morale Booster.

Paul Revere was an American Silversmith, engraver, and patriot that became a folk hero.
Revere engraved printing plates and printed money for the Massachusetts Congress, he
also designed the first official seal for the united colonies.

The Netherlands provided official recognition of the United States and financial support
for it while they were in their own war against Britain. The United States had barely over
20,000 soldiers at any given time whereas Britain had about 42,000.
