2. Can you think of a distinct Ilocono moral norms? What are these? Give short descriptions.
 Being thrifty- when people ask about Filipinos, they always say stingy or greedy for money because
Ilocanos are not fan of donating and giving big amount to the nations or even to ourselves, we can’t buy
a pricey shoes, bags or clothes because Ilocanos always think that the money we spend on these
material things, it is just a temporary. Thrifty is the best word because we, Ilocanos always save even a
cent of our money, we save for our future. if we think that is not worth buying for, we can’t buy a
material things because we always think that these money can be use for investments, business or
emergencies.
 Respecting and celebrating each other’s culture and beliefs. There is a events that Ilocanos celebrate
every last week of Wednesday where all the municipality of Ilocos Sur can displays their delicacies of
their municipality. This is called “Kannawidan” where there is different shows like street dancing and
showdown to showcase the different cultures and beliefs of different municipality of Ilocos Sur.
Example is San Vicente, they called as the mwebles of Ilocos Sur where they display here different
furnitures. Vigan City where you can see the bagnet, longganisa and empanada. We celebrate our
different cultures ans beliefs for us to reminds ourselves that we are one as a province, in every year of
our lives, we can interact with them to know more and respect what they can do to our province and be
proud with all the achievements.
