Abstract: This paper deals with the design of a mini size will be drop in frequency. The geometry of recommended
multiband antenna for wireless purpose. In the multiband antenna is shown as antenna B in Fig.1.
microstrip patch antenna, the radiation patch is packed with
circular CSSR and the rectangular CSSR formed in
multiple rings is packed in the ground plane. The
recommended antenna reproduces at various frequencies
with various return losses. The frequency bands credited for
wide interoperability for microwave access along with
commercial and military appliations are mostly insisted in
wireless fields.HFSS version 17.2 is needed for the
designing and simulation purpose of the recommended
antenna. The antenna will have a moderate returnloss and
fixed radiation pattern is produced for the reproducing
frequencies. FR4 is the material which is used in the
designing of substrate and copper which is a conductor is
used in the designing of radiation patch and ground plane. (a) Antenna A

I. INTRODUCTION
The present generation needs devices that are to be used
in different frequency bands and the microstrip patch
antenna satisfies the above mentioned purpose and is
therefore used in large number[1]. Taking into consideration
the drawbacks that is the size, cost and impedance matching
that are caused by the microstrip patch antennas and to
overcome these drawbacks metamaterial inspired microstrip
patch antennas are used. Metamaterials can be stated as man
made materials which has unusual electromagnetic
properties and this results in structural composition (b) Antenna B
compared to chemical composition. Metamaterials inspired Fig.1. Recommended antenna design.
dual, triple and multibands for wireless applications are the
works that are completed in the field of metamaterials[4]. III. DESIGN PARAMETERS
CSRR helps in reproducing bands for different purpose TABLE I: Dimensions of Antenna A
[2,3]. Compact multiband antenna is obtained by fixing the
complementary split ring resonator(CSRR) on circular
radiating patch.

II. PROPOSED ANTENNA DESIGN
The proposed antennais shown in Fig1. In antenna B
radiating patch and the ground are changed. CSRR is
packed to the circular patch of antenna B in Fig1. CSRR IV. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
produces dualbands, good return loss and widebandwidth Fig2 and Fig3 are simulated results for antenna A and B
when compared to that of antenna A. When groundstructure that are illustrated in Fig.1. In Fig.2 antenna A is resonating
is packed with tworings of CSRR as shown in below figure at a frequency 3GHz and 9.07GHz with return losses -31dB
then multi band with good returnloss are observed and there and -27dB. In order to get the compactness of antenna,

Antenna A is designed to reproduce at 10GHz. Fig.3 shows
that antenna B is reproducing at 2.4GHz, 3.2GHz, 5.4GHz
and 9.2GHz with return loss of -12.5dB, -20.5dB, 16.5dB
and -17dB. Packing of CSSR on to radiation patch of
antenna produces dual band. The radiation pattern for both
the antennas at different frequencies was observed. Fig.4
and Fig.5 shows radiation pattern of antennas A and B at 90
degrees. These are the fixed and acceptable patterns for
different frequency range.

V. CONCLUSION
Fig.2. Antenna A Return loss. Design and Analysis of compact size microstrip patch
antenna of CSSR packed radiation patch and ground plane
packed with rectangular CSRR has been completed and
also studied simulated results of circular patch and CSRR
ring. The geometrical parameters are observed carefully.
The recommended antenna fulfills all the requirements and
is suitable for wireless purpose.
