Respected sir,

I am applying to your esteemed company for an opportunity in the field of Geosystems.

I am a final year undergraduate student at Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy majoring in
Petroleum Engineering. My exposure to Geosystems began after I entered in the 2nd year of my
undergraduate study at Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy. The excellent facilities, courses and
faculty have given me a firm background of the fundamentals in Petroleum Engineering. Having been
exposed to the various facets of Petroleum Engineering in the course of my ungraduated studies, I have
found geology and geomechanics most intellectually satisfying and stimulating. During my first three
years of undergraduate studies, I learned core engineering subjects such as geomechanics, geology,
reservoir engineering, hydrocarbon production engineering, drilling and fracturing technology, well
logging, advanced drilling technology, pipeline engineering. I found the evolution of rocks in million of
years and their characteristics interesting because of the flavor of recognizing and analyzation that I love
to do.

I was a summer intern in the Rock Mechanics Lab (Dept. of Mining Engineering) at IIT Kharagpur for
about two months in 2019. Under the guidance of Mr. Debasis Deb (H.O.D. Department of Mining
Engineering), I was responsible for image correlation and error analysis in DIC for the detection of cracks
and consistent dataset representation using vtk file format. Apart from this, I also learnt model
development and analysis in Ansys platform. We also performed experimental study of rock fracturing.
After completing my summer internship there, i got a chance to participate in a conference in Delhi as
an author for the paper which was related to our research topic.

In third year of my undergraduate study, I got a chance to participate in a geological field trip which was
organized by Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy in association with Delta studies. There I got to
know about different types of rocks and attended lectures about their properties and all the
sedimentary basins of India.

Having decided that I will engage in the pursuit of a career in geosystems, I am fully aware of the
implications. I am aware of the kind of dedication, resilience and resolve that it calls for. I feel that I am
adequately prepared in having the right mind-set for the job. I am attaching my CV for your reference
