Engineers

INTERNSHIPS
Intern, Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (Online) May 2020 – Jun 2020
Professional body for chemical engineers in India, and a confluence of professionals from academia, research and the industry.
 Learnt about bioethanol production using agricultural waste (banana pseudo stem) in industrial sector.
 Produced biofuels by saccharification and fermentation processes using a microbial consortium (Aspergillus Niger).
 Designed a block diagram for pilot scale bioethanol fermentation process utilizing low-cost, readily available waste
substrate.
Intern, Sance Laboratories Private Limited Jun 2019 – Jul 2019
The leading pharmaceutical company of Kerala with a turnover of $4 Million (FY 2019) and employee strength of 50.
 Learnt the working of mechanisms of industrial equipment and gained insights from engineering department.
 Monitored the proper pressure and quality of treated water before it was used for production; Ensured quality control
of the flow rate and the purity of the various gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen etc.
 Organized & documented the various types of antibiotics produced; Sorted them according to the countries they were
being exported to.

UNDERGRADUATE PROJECT
Cerium Oxide Metal Air Battery (Team of 3) Nov 2020 – Present
The objective of this project is to generate cost-efficient and cleaner form of electricity using air as the main source.
 Collected and analyzed data pertaining to different was of synthesizing Cerium Oxide; Coordinated with the research
scholars.
 Monitored the synthesis and formation of Cerium Oxide (CeO 2) and coating of nickel foam in the Oxygen Reduction
Reaction (ORR) Chamber; Successfully synthesized hollow spheres of CeO 2
 Testing for the optimal amount of Cobalt Oxide doping in CeO2 for the best electrocatalyst for the metal air battery.

COURSE PROJECT
Fabrication of DC Generator (Team of 4) Jul 2020 – Dec 2020
The objective of this project was to fabricate a DC Generator to excite alternators and to efficiently charge batteries.
 Organized the team and provided necessary equipment for its assembling.
 Designed the circuit diagram, soldered the parts and checked the working of LED lights.
 Compared its output with a commercial DC Generator; Achieved an efficiency of 83% on the fabricated Generator, and
can be used for charging batteries.
