Power System Analysis and Design – Laboratory

Per – Unit Quantities

I. Objective:

To calculate the power system parameter being asked and observed the behaviour of the
other parameters while changing the value of the tap of a transformer.

II. Tasks

1. Solve problem 3.60 and 3.61 from the book Power System Analysis and Design
5th Edition by Glover, Sarma and Overbye; page 156
2. Open the PowerWorld Simulator sample case problem 3.60 to observe the
simulation.

IV. Conclusion
Notice that changing the phase angle primarily changes the real power flow, whereas
changing the LTC tap changes the reactive power flow.
