Dear Mr. Wood

The project that I have chosen is to record a virtual concert of myself performing songs in a
range of different jazz styles. The different jazz styles have always intrigued me because of their
differences and also the different ways musicians must think when performing in these different
styles. I will be talking to Mr. Brown about interviewing several musicians who are experts in
each respective style.

In my paper I will answer the question: how are different styles of jazz different harmonically,
rhythmically, and structurally? Also how did cultural aspects influence these distinctions, and
how has this shaped modern music?

This project will involve a lot of time researching as well as editing the songs that I play for my
virtual performance. It will also require me to interview lots of people.
