Modernity Has Failed Us

Gigette M. Dimaculangan

The world is in series of grieves and mortified feelings from the insanity decisions. Pathetic reasons and synthetic
remorse of false beginners are aching and broken and bleeding; begging for help. From the different shades of sorrow
and regrets, the world should keep their mess on its own before the greedy monster starts to blow up the charade of
chaotic world. It is once blessed by how life has been great to people. The innocent eyes looking outside instead of
perceiving within. Until the realization has finally scattered from the top of the mountain of realness and waving
shenanigans: Luck is not a fulfillment. We may have owned the world, but the world is not what the people want; but its
luxury and extravagance. The crown must win, always. There’s no beauty for fools but themselves.
“Conceited people never hear anything but praise…” – The Little Prince.
There is nothing to conquer but the sea of being grateful and how positivity will disperse in air. Given the social
issues today is such a disgrace compare from the past. Gossips are unstoppable. Starting from the sexual harassment.
For the past few years, the cases of sexual harassment are increasing big time! Even the head and leaders are being
irrational regarding the cases and “victim-blaming”, therefore, a lot of justice hasn’t served yet. It’s not about the gender
equality but the gender equity. Give and take. It’s a shame that people can’t be serving in a right way because of
justification. Either your proofs are legitimate and prove right, money is talking. There’s a lot of way to take down a victim
which is very despicable. It’s all in their little heads to a.) don’t believe the casualty and b.) blame its gender and status in
life. There’s been remorse activity the adolescents do: slut shaming. It’s a very malicious tone and not really a preferred
word for such a formal paper, but nevertheless, this is included. One of the problems in our society. Students, mostly are
the one who are experiencing such activity because social media has invaded the world. It should be stop. The victims
have nothing to do about what happened to them. Respect is the reference of major fall back of the first issue. Sexual
harassment is no joke; no sane person would think it is. And a little reminder: “Responding with not all men insinuates that
you are more concerned with how this situation affects you and your existence as a man, than the woman has been
harassed or assaulted (vice-versa).” and “It’s not really what a person wears the reason they we’re harassed, but the
person committing the crime. It’s in their head. It’s not your problem to justify, but theirs.”
An extrajudicial killing is a killing of a person ordered by the government in the Philippines. From July, 2016 to
November, 2018 – there are over 5,050 killing happened on the time frame, and 20,000 vigilante-style killings was
summed up by the Human Rights Group. Imagine the sorrows and paint brought by killing-spree ordered by the
government? How the wailing of sobs and whining cowards are petrified and denial for their own justice? Their fears have
eaten up and to never return from their body. It’s all about the indecent proposal of human rights the leaders wanted. The
reckless of the one who leads inevitable unless they’re out. To leave and never come back again is one of a piece of bribe
they offer. From the innocents to the suspect – one must show mercy. But even if you’re a reckoning material who’s
passing by, they’ll let you down and point you for the misery you received. They never listen to your words; instead, they’ll
look into your eye and say the meanest word of triumph. While grieving for your loss, they celebrate the gold in their
uniform. They stare viciously while asking for help, and when they do; that has been unfathomably fear scarring your soul.
In the Philippines, 21.6% of the population lived below the national poverty line in 2015. A large number of
scrutinizing and heart breaking seasoned taste of equality is such a disgrace in this world. How could the leaders live the
wealthy and certain life when their people live like a slave? There is no “unexpected everything”. One shall bring the
honest answer of equity, divine rights and part humanity. This is not the world should look into, the children of tomorrow
and the beginning of something vaguely rough and superior sadness. There is no looking back to live, there’s only the
toughest renegades. The proportion of the employed population below $1.90 (104.50 php) purchasing power parity a day
in 2016 is 4.1%. For every 1,000 babies born in the country, 28 die before their fifth birthday. Children who’ll never
experience the sovereign and dignity. The blood draining and the lips parted from out of breath. This life of issues is rather
sickness in gut. Belief and power is going down, bribery and corruption is eating us up.
The only good thing the world need is fund, support, and trust. Unity and integrity. Never leave the responsibility
to the next in line. Not everyone shows the truest sign of clear mind and happy soul. There’s always darkness. Trembling
future is now in the hands of quotation and fallen teenage dream.
