COUNTERSIGNING OF INDENTS OF UNIT RUN CANTEENS

1. Further to CS Dte Letters No 95350/Q/DDGCS/Advisory dated 01 Sept 2017 and

01 March 2020.

2. A large No of requests have been received from URCs in remote areas

located away from Bde/ Static HQs/ Fd Fmns HQs regarding avoidable delays in
obtaining countersignature of Indents by Bde/ Station Cdrs/ Dy GOCs.

3. Since, the issue merits favourable consideration, with immediate effect,

indents of Unit Run Canteens (Grocery & Liquor) will be countersigned by CO/QC/
Head of Institution. The indent will be signed by OIC Canteen and countersigned by
COi OCI Head of Institution. However, as an added check, wrt dependency and
ATOL etc, indents should be scrutinized during the Adm Inspection of the Unit/ Fmn/
Est or during periodic inspection/ visit by Bde/ Stn Cdrs/ HoD.

4. This Letter may please be disseminated to all Units/ Fmns/ URCs for info and
necessary action.
