BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: Incumbent will be responsible for supervising staff and assisting with the coordination
of personal property appraisal operations. Responsible for objectively identifying, discovering, listing and appraising
personal property as described by Property Valuation Division and in compliance with state laws and regulations; assist
with preparation of training materials and/or provide staff training; perform trend and depreciation studies; prepare activity
reports and quality control reviews; assist with oversight of appeal hearings at the local and state levels; and represent the
Unified Government on all levels of appeal. Assist with tracking and validation of personal property sales. Conduct field
work on manufactured homes, when necessary. Assist with procedural compliance requirements from Property Valuation
Division. Assist with the coordination and training of the Administrative Support staff. Assist with open records requests
utilizing NextRequest. Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED, Associates Degree, at least three (3) years of related
appraisal experience; one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred. A combination of education and experience
sufficient to successfully perform the duties listed above will be considered. IAAO Courses required: 101, 102 and 300.
Kansas Division of Property Valuation courses required: Personal Property Valuation and Assessment and Kansas
Property Tax Law. Must be proficient with CIC/TAS and Kansas mass appraisal software, in addition to proficiency in
Microsoft applications with emphasis on Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint. Valid Kansas Drivers’ license is required.
