ACCIPITRIDAE: With clear eyesight, capture the truth


(Photography contest)

Photography theme: The role of humans in protecting and sustaining biodiversity.

I. Objectives:
 To showcase the talents of EnSE students.
 To promote Environmental awareness through photography.

II. Target Participants:


Participants must be students from Environmental and Sanitary Engineering Department in Technological Institute of the
Philippines Quezon City who are enrolled this 2 Semester of Academic Year 2020 2021

III. Requirements:
 Accomplished online registration form

IV. Mechanics:
1. The participants must accomplish the registration form which includes a copy of Pre-Enrollment Form
(which will be verified through OSA), Photo of I.D, and Photo of signature on or before May 23 (11: 59 PM).
2. The participant/s must submit one (1) entry only. Changing entry is not allowed. The submission of entries
is from May 18 to May 29 (11:59 PM). Late submissions will not be accepted.
3. Follow the theme: "The role of humans in protecting and sustaining biodiversity"
4. Any kind of camera (e g. Smartphone cameras, Drone cameras, and DSLR cameras) can be used.
5. The use of filters and effects are not allowed Participants must only submit a raw or unfiltered photo.
6. Do not plagiarize! Violation of this is subject to automatic disqualification.
7. Submit a recent photo only. The photo must be taken within October 2020 to May 2021 period.
8. Photographs that have been previously submitted or have won in any local or international competition are
not allowed If proven, the entry is subject to automatic disqualification.
9. The participant must provide a title and a short description (3-4 sentences) in pdf format. The photo and
description must be uploaded in the shared Google drive folder that will provided by the DSC. The following are the
naming formats to be followed:
Photo: LASTNAME_YEARLEVEL_TITLE
Description: LASTNAME_TITLE
10. Failure to submit on time wall have 10 points deductions on the total score.
11. The top three (3) with the highest scores will be awarded as the 1 st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place winners
respectively.
12. The judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.

V. Criteria:
 Technical Excellence (Excellence in the utilization of equipment) -20%
 Relevance to the theme (Extent to which the photo is related to the theme) -45%
 Uniqueness (The distinctive feature of the photo among other entries) -25%
 Overall Impact (The extent to which the photo moved its viewers) -10%

I. OBJECTIVES
1. To develop confidence and to showcase the talents and skills of ENSE students for recreation and
enjoyment.
2. To exhibit the ENSE student’s potentials and skills with regards to lifelong learning.
3. To develop a strong sense of community within the ENSE Department.

II. REQUIREMENTS
 Accomplished online registration form.

III. MECHANICS
1. The contest proper is STRICTLY open to ENSE students ONLY who are enrolled in T.I.P. – Quezon City.
2. The participant could be a solo, duo, or group that has a maximum member of 10. The participants must
register online INDIVIDUALLY and must accomplish the registration form which includes a copy of Pre-Enrollment
Form (which will be verified through OSA), Photo of I.D, and Photo of signature. The registration must be
accomplished on or before May 23, 2021 (11:59 PM).
3. The participant/s must submit one (1) entry only. Changing entry is not allowed.. Late submissions will not
be accepted.
4. The video performance should be recorded within the premises of the participants' house regardless if it's a
solo, duo, or group performance. Failure to do so will automatically disqualify the participant from this competition.
5. The participant’s entry must be uploaded in the shared Google drive folder that will provided by the DSC.
Following this naming format:
Solo: SURNAME_FIRSTNAME_YEARLEVEL, e.g. DelaCruz_Juan_1st
Duo & Group: GROUP NAME_YEARLEVEL, e.g. EnSEMPHONIES_3 rd
6. The submission of entries is from May 18, 2021 to May 29, 2021 (11:59 PM).
7. Failure to submit on time shall have 5 points deductions on the total score.
8. The top three (3) with the highest scores shall be awarded as the 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3 rd Place
winners respectively.
9. The judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable

IV. CRITERIA

TALENT/PERFORMANCE This is defined as the participant's ability to present original 50%
material that draws a positive response from the audience with
personality, originality, and poise. It should reflect the overall
impression of the performance rather than just one single
element.
ORIGINALITY This can be defined as creating a piece of work that is distinctive 20%
or different from the other participants. It takes creativity,
ingenuity, confidence, and personality to present an original
piece.
CREATIVITY This can be defined as how creative your talent or performance 20%
is. It can be shown in your video editing skills and other matters.
OVERALL IMPACT The extent to which the performance moved its viewers 10%

(Game: Valorant)

I. OBJECTIVES:
I. To promote teamwork and gaming ethics among the players.
II. To showcase the talent of EnSE students.
III. To build relationships in the EnSE community.

II. REQUIREMENTS
1. Each team members must accomplish the registration form (via Google forms).
2. Teams will be informed of the schedule of their games through a text message and/or through social
media.
3. Each team/player will be evaluated with the following requirements:
a. A Desktop/laptop that has the following specifications or higher in order to make sure the game runs
smoothly:
i. Minimum Requirements:
 CPU: Intel i3-370M/Core 2 Duo E8400
 CPU SPEED: Info
 RAM: 4 GB
 OS: Windows 7/8/10 64-bit
 VIDEO CARD: Intel HD 3000/4000 / Geforce 730
 PIXEL SHADER: 3.0
 VERTEX SHADER: 3.0
b. Complete number of players per team - Each team shall be composed of five (5) players. The line-up must
already be decided prior to registration. All the names listed in the registration will be the final line-up. No changes
will be accepted.

III. MECHANICS OF THE GAME


1. The Valorant tournament is an E-Sports event that will be conducted as part of the Sportsfest of the T.I.P. –
Quezon City for the Academic Year 2020-2021. The tournament is open to all ENSE students of T.I.P. - Quezon
City.
2. The players must be bona fide Environmental and Sanitary engineering students of T.I.P. – Quezon City
and must be enrolled in the current semester. The participants must accomplish the registration form (via Google
forms) which includes a copy of Pre-Enrollment Form (which will be verified through OSA), Photo of I.D, and Photo
of signature. on or before May 23, until 11:59 P.M. via shared Google drive folder of the DSC Gmail. Once the entry
is approved, changes on rosters can only be allowed if a registered player backs out of the tournament, the
committee should be notified and the new player should submit the same requirements as soon as possible.
3. Every team is composed of five (5) members from any year level and gender. The allowed number of
teams to register is up to six (6) teams (first come, first serve basis).
4. The complete team representatives must arrive 10 minutes before scheduled playing time and must join a
Google meet conference for validation and checking of the said players. The game must begin as scheduled. At the
exact game time, a defaulting party will be determined if:
 The complete team is not present in the Google meet conference 15 minutes before the official start of the
game.
 Player/s action/s prevent the game from being played; or
 Any member of the team refuse/s to play after being instructed to do so by the referee with the concurrence
of the tournament head committee.
5. Any kind of unsportsmanlike behavior and trouble-making manners including trash talking and foul
language in and out of the game are condemned. Unsportsmanlike behavior while playing the game will result in
the disqualification of the player for the game. Subsequent violation will result in the disqualification of the offending
party or the entire team from the tournament, depending on the level of the offense. Such as; saying foul words
directly to the opponent or to the umpire, and being barbaric in the game that are found offensive.
i. First offense – Warning by the umpire
ii. Second offense – Disqualification in the match
6. Official schedule of the eliminations and finals shall be held within May 26, 2021 to May 31, 2021. The
schedules will be given by the committee and should be agreed by both team captains, changes on schedules can
only be done by the committee with prior notice.
7. Decision of the game officials is final and irrevocable.

IV. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATION


These are the rules and regulations that will appear in the agreement form that is going to be signed by the participating
players. Applicable to where it’s due.
1. The five (5) players listed for a team are the only ones allowed to play for their respective team.
2. Trash talking and foul language in and out of the game are strictly prohibited. Violations are counted as a
team, not per player.
a. 1st Violation – Warning
b. 2nd Violation – Disqualification of the team
3. These warnings would be relied on the DSC of the respective team who commits the violation.
4. Cheating in any form is strictly prohibited. A player who is caught cheating will result to the disqualification
of the player’s respective team. Every match would be recorded by the committee and will undergo review for
players’ behavior in game.
5. Players can swap positions based on their preferred strategy.
6. If a player was disconnected during the game, the team with disconnected player would be given a total of
thirty (30) minute of pause time to be handled by the committee. Upon reconnecting, the said player must undergo
a quick check through the given Google meet conference earlier before the match to ensure no swapping of players
has occurred. If proven, the team who violated the said rule would be disqualified for the entire tournament. if the
disconnected player cannot make it in time, the team captain should choose between the two:
i. Proceed playing a 4v5 game until the disconnected player returns
ii. Concede the game
7. Display names and team names of the participants should not contain any foul words. A player can’t
change an account during the tournament. In game IDs would be checked by the committee before starting the
match.
8. A team’s failure to be present on time for a scheduled game will reward the opposing team a win, unless
the opposing team chooses to wait for the tardy team. The opposing team may only wait for a maximum of fifteen
(15) minutes before the tardy team is given a loss. As much as possible, teams should arrive earlier than their
scheduled match.
9. If a player experiences any technical issues/connectivity issues before and during the game, Rule number
five (6) and seven (8) would be the basis of the committee.
10. It is possible that a team may get instantly disqualified if seen reasonable by a marshal or tournament
organizers. The tournament organizers reserve the right to give sanctions for any of the mentioned possibilities, and
for any unforeseen possibilities.

V. GAME PROPER

Eliminations
Due to the limited time and considering the effect of this event on the players’ academic performance, elimination round
would be a single elimination mode. Teams would be drawn in a bracketing system where if a present case of odd count of
teams, a team can move to the next round of elimination. Eliminations will proceed until there are only two seeds left to be
the candidate for the Finals (this method was formulated do that the tournament would be fast paced and would not strongly
affect the academic performance and class schedules of the players involved, again your studies are our priority).

Finals
The two (2) remaining teams will have a Best of 3 matches. The remaining team from the upper bracket will have a match
with the remaining team from the lower bracket where the first team to reach 13 round wins will be considered and
recognized as the First Valorant tournament champion of ENSE Department of the T.I.P.-QC.

Champion – Php. 1000

EnSE Day Octopoda: Deep sea thinkers thinking beyond the oceans
(Quiz Bee)
REGISTRATION DATES: [May 17, 2021 – May 23, 2021]
EVENT PROPER: May 26, 2021
ENSE DAY DATE: June 3, 2021 (Thursday); [7:00 PM -8:45 PM]

I. Objectives
1. To harness the critical thinking and analytical skills of Environmental and Sanitary Engineering students.
2. To promote the values of competitiveness and winning mindset among Environmental and Sanitary
Engineering students.
II. Requirements
a. Accomplished online registration form.
b. Proper attire must be worn during the Quiz Bee Proper

III. Composition of the Quiz Team


a. Participants must be bona fide students of Technological Institute of the Philippines - Environmental and
Sanitary Engineering Department, A.Y. 2020-2021.
b. The quiz bee will be played individually.
c. The deadline of submission for the requirements will be on or before May 23, 2021.

IV. Mechanics
a. The quiz bee will be comprised of three rounds, namely: (1) Easy, (2) Intermediate, and (3) Difficult. The
following will be the number of questions, corresponding time limit and equivalent score for every round:
Easy: There will be 10 questions each with a time limit of 15 seconds.
 Each correct answer will be worth 5 points.
Intermediate: There will be 7 questions each with a time limit of 20 seconds.
 Each correct answer will be worth 10 points.
Difficult: There will be 7 questions each with a time limit of 1 minute.
 Each correct answer will be worth 15 points.

Tie-Breaker round
 In case of a tie after the end of Easy round and Intermediate Round, a tiebreaker round will occur. In this round,
there will be 5 questions with a time limit of 45 seconds.

After each round starting from the Tiny round there will be a bonus round named Lucky Points wherein the teams will have
the option to answer the bonus question which can either earn them or lose them 5 points.
Category Description
Easy In this round, every correct answer is equivalent to 5 points. The time allotted per question is 15
seconds.
Intermediate In this round, every correct answer is equivalent to 10 points. The time allotted per question is
20 seconds.
Difficult In this round, every correct answer is equivalent to 15 points. The time allotted per question is 1
minute.
Tiebreaker In this round, tie breaking questions will be asked. Every correct answer is equivalent to 15
points. The time allotted per question is 45 seconds.

After Intermediate Round, the (5) players who got highest accumulated scores will be advancing in the next round. The
scores of remaining 5 teams will start again at 0.

1. The quiz bee proper will cover the following subjects:


a. Engineering Chemistry
b. Environmental Science
c. Earth Science
d. General Information
2. Kahoot! Will be the platform used in this event.
3. The quizmaster will announce in which field the question is coming from. After that, he/she will read the
questions twice and will give a cue before the time starts.
4. At the end of the time limit, all contestants must have an answer.
5. Questions and clarifications regarding a question should be raised before the next question. The decision
of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.
6. The winners are going to be determined through the total scores they obtained from the rounds. The top
three contestants will be proclaimed as the Champion, 1 st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up, respectively.

V. Prizes
The winners shall receive the following prizes:

A Board Resolution to disburse an amount of Php 2500.00 to be


allocated for the Environmental and Sanitary Engineering
Department’s Day (ENSE Day) to be held on June 3, 2021.

Whereas, the said amount will be needed to subsidize the expenses of


the department’s upcoming event.

Whereas, the objectives of the said activity are (1) To develop social
skills and positive relationships among EnSE students. (2) To
showcase the talents and interests of EnSE students. (3) To give
EnSE students insightful knowledge through the webinar.

Whereas, the prizes will be given to the winners of the prepared events
and games.

Therefore, be it resolved that, an amount of Php 2500.00 be disbursed


from the DSC-Environmental and Sanitary Engineering general fund.

Resolved further, that copies of the resolution be furnished to Mr.


Antonio J. Salido, OSA Coordinator and to the DSC-Environmental and
Sanitary Engineering adviser as well as to the DSC-Environmental and
Sanitary Engineering officers.

Duly approved, this 5th day of May 2021, in a virtual meeting held at
Google meet.
