Activity 2: “The Wave Equation”

Solve the following problems correctly.

1. What is the frequency of light waves with
wavelength of 5 x 10-7 m?
2. A radio station has a frequency of 90.9
megahertz (9.09 X 107 Hz). What is the
wavelength of the radio waves the station emits
from its radio tower?
3. Mr. Nimfo S. Valdez catches the news on 7: 00
AM, which broadcasts at 780. kHz. Determine the
wavelength of these radio waves.

Activity 3: “The Electromagnetic Spectrum”

Read the concept about electromagnetic
spectrum. Based from its concepts describe it
using metacognition for stating knowledge. Use
the template below
Guide Questions:
1. What is “waving” in an electromagnetic wave?
2. How fast do radio waves, red light and X rays travel
in a vacuum?
3. Which of the following are likely to act as a
polarizing filter for radio waves: a picket fence
consisting of long, thin slats made out of metal or
wood? Explain your answer
