Q:02 In the case, many of the organisations operate in different countries.

Will the
external forces vary between countries?

Ans: Yes, external forces vary between countries. They are discussed below:
1.Demopraphic: average age of countries varies heavily. In South Asian countries like
India, Pakistan, etc…, majority of their population comprises young generation- India has
more males under the age of 5 than entire population of France, though in Pakistan,
majority of population lies within 16 to 18 years. We have another country in South Asia is
China which shows quite opposite picture as compared to above-mentioned countries, it is
predicted that China will have more people at the age of 65 in the future.

2.Political: Degree of severity of rules concerning drone employment varies from

country to country. In U.K, drone-related rules are more severe than those in Ireland,
where drones must fly at a height of 400 feet and it must avoid flying within 150 meters of
congested areas. Other factors might contribute to discrepancy in rules regarding drone
delivery technology such as environment. Lower income countries which lack more
advanced technology to better predict weather, chances are good that surge in accidents
might be observed when weather is undesirable. These happenings may anger the citizens
of those countries and come to protest and demand that drone delivery be banned.
Governments under public pressure might accept their demand in order to make them
satisfied. But, scenario could be quite different in advanced countries.

3.Technology: Different organisations in different countries don’t use same technology

in producing goods and services and supply them in the market. We have the example of
KFC, an American fast food restaurant chain that specializes in fried chicken. It has
franchises in number of countries. There is not any Pakistani–originated fast food
restaurant chain that could hardly compete with foreign fast food businesses. This is
because we have not come up with an advanced and innovative technology due to lack of
R&D that enables us compete with these foreign companies.

Q 03: When considering the employment of drone technology, are there any demographic
environmental forces to consider? Consider the difference between baby boomers and
iGeneration.
Ans: Yes, demographic forces should be considered while launching drone technology.
Age is an important factor to consider. We have people of two different age groups, one is
“Baby boomers” and other is “iGeneration.” Baby boomers are defined as those individuals
born between 1946 and 1964. This generation is not as technology-oriented as iGeneration.
Many of them are retirees and haven’t as much energy and aren’t as much mentally sharp
to work in companies using drone delivery system as iGeneration. As far as iGeneration is
concerned, it is also called “touch-screen” generation. This generation is greatly absorbed in
technology. Many of them are pursuing their career in the field of technology and in the
search of jobs here. Another factor that needs to be taken into account is “geographic
location.” One way in which geographic location may be problematic for the company using
drone technology is that customers who want their products to be delivered at their
doorstep don’t exist at same place. As discussed in the case, a drone can deliver one parcel
at a time and this will definitely affect the efficiency of the organisation.
