Should you receive an e-mail from the above mentioned "company" - Please see my e-mail
thread below. I answered it and it is most definitely a scam - as you will see - But a more
elaborate one as they have set up a website et al. I have taken out my contact info and such - But
BEWARE! (It's a thread so READ from the Bottom Up!):

I just received this casting call. They have sent me the model release form to fill out. I
had a feeling this looked like a scam, how did you figure it out?

This is copied and pasted from so many other scam casting calls I've seen people
post about: https://scamsurvivors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=62001&p=147633
There are too many details in the email and simultaneously no real details.
But the real key to seeing the scam: " WARDROBE & MAKE UP : We’ll cover your hair
and make up as well as your wardrobe. Your wardrobe consist of high end fashion
products (clothes, shoes, custom wears and fashion accessories). A wardrobe
allowance will be allocated to you and you’ll be instructed on where and what to shop.
RETAINER & PER-NEGOTIATIONS : You’ll be receiving an upfront payment from the
sponsor of the event, this is to ensure payment for future services or work to be
rendered. Part of this upfront payment will cover for your wardrobe expenses."
No no no. No legitimate businesses operate like this. You don't get paid before the job
even happens, and talent is never responsible for going out and buying your own
wardrobe. Maybe being asked to bring options, sure, but they don't send you a check
and tell you where to shop. So what will happen is you get the check from them,
deposit it and go make your purchases and get ready for the shoot. They contact you
and tell you they need part of it back. You send them a check for whatever amount,
then your bank tells you that the initial check you deposited bounced because the
company is a fraud. You have now been paid $0 and you forked over however much
of your own good money to this company, who is surprise surprise nowhere to be
found now.

Hi there,
I also got this email and that is the reason that I came here to check it here at this
forum.
I started to get suspicious when they said I got the part without an audition.
Today I reply to them to find out what they really want and I am waiting for their
answer. I will keep you posted when I find out what they are asking for... I am just
playing along with them.
This was the last email I got from them:
Dear Luiz,
We have acknowledged the receipt of your information and signed Model
Release/Contract via email, Our first email with the model contract did say
congratulations cause you've been selected. Processing has began and we will keep
you posted.
We look forward to a successful completion of this project with you.

Thank you for letting me know that this is a scam, Luiz Sena.

Hi
So look if you just have time on your hands ok - But there is NO NEED to post what
they REALLY want - we ALL know this already - You get the money up front - put it in
your bank - buy the items - in this case Clothing - in Voice Over - Studio Time - and
whatever it is in all the other permutations of this scam etc etc and the check/money
order what have you is no good etc etc - You're out money - they have yours etc etc -
That's the basic scam just done a MYRIAD of different ways - Don't waste your time -
it's pretty well known. Move On!

I also received an email as well more or less identical to everyone else's above. As
someone who has encountered similar emails in the past (e.g. "upfront payment"), this
is most likely a scam.

It saddens me that there are so many scams out there that target actors, a group not
known for having unlimited amounts of money.

Thank you to everyone for posting! I just took an hour answering their email and come
to find out it's not legit. Ugh, people have way too much time on their hands hoping for
some gullible person to see this "mobile commercial" to the end.
Should I reply back to their email that we all know they are a scam?
