To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Nur Kholis and I am a final year student at Gadjah Mada University. I am
currently studying for an applied bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and I plan to
continue my studies for a master's degree one year after graduation.
When I was a student, I worked as a freelancer in structural design to finance my
studies. I studied the construction process from scratch and discovered the importance
of structure in the design of a building.
My education has mainly focused on this idea: Structure is better because it relates to
occupant safety. I've signed up for several courses covering civil engineering majors
because I wanted to have a comprehensive understanding of how design meets
structure. Under the supervision of the professor of Civil Engineering (Mr. Jeremy
Gregory), I worked on a housing design project to accelerate my research and
education.
I want to be a civil engineer to make earthquake-resistant houses. I live in a small
town, but there are very few houses that use a structural design that conforms to the
design rules. This happens in many big and small cities in Indonesia, especially in
areas that have not yet appreciated the importance of structural design. My goal is to
educate people to build houses using structural designs because it concerns the safety
and security of residents.
I plan to do an internship at Wiratman & Associates as a structural consultant in
Indonesia. After getting my master's degree, I will continue my on-the-job training
there. After I worked there Wiratman & Associates, I wanted to open my own
construction company, focusing on the structural design.
Thank you for your consideration. With your help, I can further my education in Civil
Engineering as well as provide socially suitable structural designs.

Sincerely,

Nur Kholis
