A and B can do a piece of work in 72 days; B and C can do it in 120 days; A and C can do it in

90 days. In what time can A alone do it?

A+B=72 days, B+C=120 days, A+C=90 days.

So now calculate the Total Work by taking the L.C.M which is equal to 360.

Therefore, Total work = 360 unit…. (i)

Now we will get the one day work

A+B=5 unit work(360/72)…. (ii)

B+C=3 unit(360/120)…. (iii)

A+C=4 unit(360/90)…. (iv).

By adding these we get,

2(A+B+C)=12 unit

A+B+C=6 unit…. (v)

Now from (iii) and (v) we'll get the A's one day work, which is equal to 3 unit

A=3 unit…. (vi)

Now from (i) and (vi) we'll get the days that A can complete the work alone.

i.e, 360/3= 120 days.. Ans

A and B can do a piece of work in 5 days; Band C can do it in, 7 days; A and C can do it in 4 days. Who
among these will take the least time if put to do it alone?

A and B together take 5 days to complete a work.

A and B together together can finish 1/5th of a work in one day.

B and C can finish a work in 7 days.

B and C can finish 1/7th of a work in one day.

A and C can finish the work in 4 days.

A and C can finish 1/4th of the work in one day.

A+B+B+C+C+A’s one day work =

=(1/5)+(1/7)+(1/4)=(1/5)+(1/7)+(1/4)

=83/140=83/140
2A, 2B and 2C’s one day's work =83/140.=83/140.
A,B and C's one day's work =83/2×140.=83/2×140.
=83/280.=83/280.
If one day's work of A and B is subtracted from one day's work of A,B and C together we get
C's one day's work. Likewise we can get B and C's work of one day.

A's one day work = A,B and C's one day's work- B and C's one day's work.

=(83/280)−(1/7)=43/280=(83/280)−(1/7)=43/280
B's one day's work =(83/280)−(1/4)=13/280.=(83/280)−(1/4)=13/280.
C's one day's work =(83/280)−(1/5)=27/280.=(83/280)−(1/5)=27/280.
A is most efficient fallowed by C and B.

If A, B and C together can finish a piece of work in 4 days; A alone can do it in 12 days and B in 18 days,
then C alone can do it in:
