Online Parties Checklist

Extend your reach, expand your network, and increase your sales by taking your Scentsy parties online.
Online parties give you an opportunity to connect with Hosts and customers while sharing a fun
Scentsy experience and building community from anywhere.

There are many ways to use online parties to help you reach your business goals: Invite customers to host an online party, show
support for a local organization with a fundraiser, or throw a themed party with you as the Host and give your customers
something special to celebrate. Add games, share product tips, introduce Scentsy specials, and even invite guests to join
your team, all while facilitating a fun party from the comfort of your own home. Use this checklist to help you pull off an
epic online event.

1. Set up a Party Page on your Workstation.

Choose your Host. This could be someone already wanting to host an online party, or you can be the Host to show
customers how hosting an online party works.
Name the party to coordinate with your event to make it clear to customers which party to order on. When customers
see that you have an online party on your PWS, they may ask for more information about participating or hosting, as well.

2. Set up a Facebook event, page or group.

Provide details about what the event is, when it’s happening, and how to join.
Include a description of your party that lets everyone know it’s going to be fun, unique, and easy to join. For example, you
might offer guests special tips, activities to participate in, party games, or drawings as part of your online event.
ncourage guests to invite their friends, just like you would for an in-person home party. The great thing about an online
E
party is that people can join from anywhere, so encourage guests to share the event on Facebook with friends from all over.

3. Coach your Host.

Take time to explain Host Rewards and offer incentives.
Set a goal with your Host and have them create a wish list.
Before the event, be sure your Host invites friends on Facebook but avoids over-inviting or spamming. The Host can send
individual invites to specific friends on Facebook, through private messages, and emails. Include a URL link to the event in
the message to make it easy for potential guests to find your party.
Explain to your Host how the event will work and ask them to comment and participate during the party to encourage
other guests to do the same.

4. Make an outline for the party.

An outline works as a template or script to help you create ongoing interaction and engagement during your event.
Having a pre-established plan for what to post and when to post helps with the flow of the event and lets you give more
focus to interacting with customers during the event.
Help move things along with posts like the ones below, along with images that will help maintain the flow of your party:
• This party goes live in 30 minutes!
• Welcome, I’m ____________. So glad you’re here — let’s party!
• Thank you, ___________, for hosting our get-together.
• Thank you for joining us!
Gather images and/or videos to share Scentsy products and programs, as well as the opportunities to host and join.
For example, if you plan to feature a new product or a limited-time offer, get a photo ready and think about the product’s
features and benefits, availability date range, and its page number in the catalog, or where to find it on your PWS. You can
add these details to the post information for each post on your outline.
• Use your own images of products to personalize the event, images from the Marketing section of Scentsy Success, or
a combination of both.
• Make 30- to 60-second videos with tips to share, or tap in to the video resources on Scentsy’s YouTube channel.
• If you plan to go live during your event, gather the Scentsy products together in a display so you can conveniently
showcase each item.
When you have the images, videos, and text ready, you can use a scheduling tool to automatically post them during the
party. If this isn’t an option, you could copy and paste them from your outline into Facebook to post during the party,
and have a folder on your desktop with all of the party images labeled in the order you want them to post. If you do use
an auto-poster, make sure to monitor it — don’t just set it up and leave it during the party.
Don’t post more than 30 times during your event, and space your posts at least three to five minutes apart.

5. Engage with guests before, during, and after the party. Like every party, you want to create a positive,
memorable experience for your customers.
Get started by welcoming guests and introducing yourself and your Host through a post or through a Facebook Live.
Make it clear to guests what’s for sale and how to order. Include a link that goes directly to your party’s shopping page,
so your Host gets credit for all the sales.
Post an icebreaker activity that lets you learn about guests. For example, you might ask them to share a photo of
their pet or share their favorite Disney character. Take notes so you can follow up with customers with product
recommendations or tips.
Introduce products using photos and/or videos. Be sure to sprinkle these promotional posts in between other general
engagement posts. In every two to three product posts, include a direct link in the text to the Party Page for the specific
event to make shopping easy.
Ask questions and invite guests to participate. Use prompts like the ones listed below:
• What’s your go-to Scentsy fragrance?
• What’s your favorite Scentsy Warmer?
• Share a photo of your Scentsy Warmer in your home.
• What do you love about _____?
• Share places where you could use a Mini Fan Diffuser.
Increase the fun factor for your online party with participation incentives. Play a game with your guests like a Scentsy
Scavenger Hunt or bingo, using the activity to highlight a limited-time offer or particular products.
Share the things that you love about Scentsy, like Scentsy’s charitable cause program. Post a picture of you celebrating
at a Scentsy Family Reunion event, or something that highlights Scentsy spirit. These types of posts give you
opportunities to show customers the many great reasons why Scentsy is something they might want to be a part of,
that everyone is welcome here, and how they can be a part of this Scentsy family as a customer, Host or Consultant.
Whenever a guest places an order, make sure to thank them. This makes them feel appreciated, and helps encourage
other guests to place orders, too.
Use private Facebook messages to have additional conversations with each guest about their order or the Scentsy
Consultant opportunity, or to run a personal special.

6. Ask the Host to follow up with guests after the event.

Encourage your Host to thank guests for attending or placing orders. The Host can also share party information with
guests who weren’t able to attend to increase party sales, and to promote additional bookings and the opportunity to
become a Consultant.

7. Invite guests to join your Facebook VIP group or like your business page.
Be sure to post an image with your contact information, and links to your website, your VIP group, etc.
During the party, if you see guests who are already in your customer VIP group, post an invitation to the group and have
your current VIP customers share one thing they love about the VIP group in the comments.
Invite guests to share their contact information with you so you can stay in touch.

8. Use the 1-1-3 follow-up system by reaching out to customers one week, one month, and three months after
they’ve placed their orders; this will help you make the most of the connections you established through
your online party.
Stay in touch using AMI.
