5A Media- Experimental Design

A) Research question: How does running influence productivity?

B) Variables being tested: amount of time spent running and amount of time spent doing

assignments within an hour after

C) I think that the more time someone spends running, then the more productive they will

be. However, I think that if they run too much, then they will be too tired and they will

not have as much productivity.

D) The experimental procedure is assigning a group of individuals a set amount of time to

run each day for two weeks. There will also be a control group of individuals that do not

run for those two weeks. The experimental group will be assigned a set amount of

minutes to run each day, and it will gradually increase throughout the two weeks. After

they run, the individuals will be tasked with completing any assignments they have. The

amount of time that they spend working on assignments will also be measured. The

control group of individuals will just be measured for the amount of assignments they

complete. At the end of the two weeks, the sets of data will be compared to see if the

running group or the control group was more productive. Also, any other trends will be

observed. Only a stopwatch and spreadsheet will be needed for this experiment.
