Aim:
To model, simulate and study the performance of the chopper fed DC
motor drive using PSIM simulation software.

21. Double click on the DC block (DC voltage source) and change its parameters
as shown in Figure.
22. Double click on the DC block (DC voltage source) and change its parameters
as shown in Figure.
23. Double click on the DC Machine block and change its parameters as shown
in Figure.
24. Double click on the current sensor block of DC machine armature and
change its parameters as shown in Figure.
25. Double click on the current sensor block of the DC machine field and
change its parameters as shown in Figure.
26. Double click on the mechanical load (constant torque) and change its
parameters as shown in Figure.

Simulation Output:
36. Case (i) Change the Speed command to -1200rpm, 600rpm and -600rpm
at constant load torque. Observe motor current, the torque developed and the
speed response of the drive.
Case (ii) Observe motor current, the torque developed and the speed
response of the drive at the following operating conditions,
(a) Command Speed 1200rpm and 5Nm load torque
(b) Command Speed -1200rpm and -5Nm load torque
Inference:
The speed command and load torque have been changed. Observe the simulated graphs
for field current, actual speed, speed command, armature current.

Aim:
To model, simulate and study the performance of the voltage source
inverter (VSI) fed three-phase induction motor drive using PSIM simulation
software.

Procedure:
10. Double click on the Sine block (AC voltage source) and change its
parameters as shown in Figure.
11.Double click on the Gating block connected to the Positive phase converter
thyristor (T1 and T2) and change its parameters as shown in Figure.
12. Double click on the Gating block connected to the Positive phase converter
thyristor (T3 and T4) and change its parameters as shown in Figure.

thyristor (T’1 and T’2) and change its parameters as shown in Figure.

Simulation Output:

100Hz input voltage.
Inferences:
As the supply (input) voltage & triggering angles are changed, note the readings and calculated outputs.
