Three rich brothers, Fred, Tom and Bill, want to do

something special for their old mother on Mother’s Day.
Fred, the first brother, remembers that his mother lives
in a very small flat. So he gives her a big house with a
garden. Tom, the second brother, remembers that his
mother has weak legs. So he buys her a Mercedes,
with a chauffeur. Bill, the third brother, remembers that
his mother loves to read the newspaper every day, but
now she can’t see well. So he gets her an intelligent
parrot that can read the newspaper aloud to her.

Mother‘s Soon, the brothers get thank-you letters from their

mother. The first son’s letter says, “Dear Fred, thank
