SODIUM CHLORIDE – A FLAVORFUL ATTRACTION

Sodium Chloride is a nondescript fishing village tucked away on the southern coast of
the Keosea Kingdom, which is covered by an old, crumbling, and badly worn wall by centuries of
rain and wind coming in from the Azure Sea.
Sodium Chloride villagers love peace and freedom. They kept to fishing, content to
maintain a low profile and avoid governmental entanglements. The future of Sodium Chloride
rests in the hands of three factions that compete for supremacy: Traditionist versus Loyalist,
which represent the opposing sentiments that have grown in town in recent years; alongsidely,
there is Scarlet Brothers - a secret group that seeks to undermine Sodium Chloride and seize
control of the region.
About five thousand residents, which are mostly human, with the dwarven mining
contingent of about two hundred workers the largest non-human faction in town reside in
Sodium Chloride. Elves and halflings draw no special notice, since the Silverstand hosts a wood
elf enclave and a few halfling villages are tucked in the hills around town. The residents react to
other visitors, especially tieflings and dragonborn, with a mixture of curiosity and fear.
Sodium Chloride consists of a group of well-trained soldiers, both on land and marine that
are quick to call whenever trouble arises. They are equipped with special equipment, and they
are not afraid to defeat pirates, monsters, and
evildoers. The town guard arrests lawbreakers
and imprisons them in the town jail. In most
cases, criminals pay a fine and are let go. Those
who cannot pay are required to work off their
debt, usually put to work sweeping streets or
helping with construction projects. If a crime
requires a trial, the town council hears evidence
and renders a verdict. In either case, criminals
may have to spend their life in jail.
City Gate lies at northwest of Sodium
Chloride, where guards apprehend visitor.
Although the old guard are nearing retirement,
their eyes are still pretty sharp. Beyond the City
Gate are gorgeous barracks, which are also the
village’s jails. These jails are sturdy enough to
stop criminals and troublemakers for one year –
If the crime is more serious, the committed may
end up stranded at a larger, heavily fortified port
to the east.
The jail is pretty well-built so that even a powerful Dragon couldn’t get inside or outside.
There have been rumours about Criminal Spellcasters are blindfolded and manacled. Some
rooms are protected with Teleportation and Divination magic. With that in hand, the outlaw rate
in Sodium Chloride has been reduced to the minimum.

Sodium Chloride map.

Sodium Chloride is well-known with heart-
warming and joyful taverns. These place
provide good accommodations and
occasionally, such taverns would offer
important, mind-blowing rumours. Any visitor
coming here could rarely miss The Wicker Goat
- a tavern bearing the dubious honour of being
the oldest tavern in town. This two-story
building has sleeping quarters for rent on the
upper floor, usually sufficient to accommodate
the slow stream of travellers making their way
through Sodium Chloride on the way to
somewhere else or a place for those guys who
argued with their wives. Perhaps you would
encounter a high wizard that can grant a wish
or two or maybe a dragon that shapeshifted to
human to wait for a change?
Unlike The Wicker Goat, there are unfriendly
Taverns. These places are filled with thugs and
rowdy nights of drinking & brawling. Be careful if you encounter one of those.
If fishing is the top commerce of Sodium Chloride
Villager, then mining should not be below the
third. Manitrad Platinumlocks is a competent
leader of the newly established mining operation
in Sodium Chloride, which also controls the mining
link here. The Dwarven Mine lies to the East of this
village (below, on the map). Although Manitrad
owns a modest lifestyle, no one knows what lies
below Platinumlocks’ President.
Town’s Library is one important part of Sodium Chloride. Wizards and anybody finds interest in
book can come here to exchange for knowledge and wisdom; There are not only legendary stories,
but also sources of magic, magic items, forgotten wizards, and spells.
If you know Magic, you may know about Keledik, a
bald wizard with dusk-colour skin who came from
Kalik. No one in Sodium Chloride could miss his
comfortable, yet mysterious three-story tower.
There are bad rumours linked with Keledik, but no
one confirmed such. Maybe he will allow you to
explore his tower. Maybe.

Lying next
to Azure
Sea, fishes
are copious
and diverse. Villagers can fish for self-sustaining, but they
can also do it for trading. Inuz – a kingdom faraway usually
comes here to buy Fishes. Sometimes, they come here to
exchange Magic Item with wealth and Ration. Maybe they
will give you some magic items.
There are not only fishes, of course. There are green markets
in Sodium Chloride where they sell eggs, meats, milks and
other things. Nonesuch place could beat Sodium Chloride
when it comes to rationing.

Sodium Cloride Clerics are

mostly Tempest Clerics, whose
deity is Procan, a God of Wind
and Sea. A Chaotic Neutral deity,
his mood changes like the wave,
calm and fury, monstrous and
peaceful. Procan’s Cleric seeks
Omen from the wind and sea and
mirrors their demeanor to match the omen. When the sea reaches
its limit at the shore, so too does Procan's power. His clerics and
priests rarely venture inland, and he cares little for what happens
beyond his waters. At sea, he expects sacrifices in the form of fine food, potent alcohol, or
valuable treasures thrown overboard at the start of a voyage. Due to this ritual, Procan holds all
treasures lost at sea as part of his domain. He curses those who plunder shipwrecks without the
blessings of his clerics, dogging their steps with wretched weather until his attention is drawn
elsewhere.
Procan Priests are proficient with reviving spells and magics. The Blessing of Procan can be used
to seek out shipwrecks in order to recover the remains of sailors for a proper burial.
Sodium Chloride people may keep a low profile and enjoy a peaceful life, but they are not
cowards. Some soldiers and mercenaries live in the town and appear whenever needed.
Employments here appreciate strong helpful mercenaries that can help with dealing with thugs
or escorting, exploring; or even assassinatin’
With valuable materials from mining, Dwarfs
can provide you strongest weapons and
armours that none other places could easily
furnish.
Though having potential, touring is not really
developed in Sodium. The village contains
sea groves and ports, as well as a mysterious
forest that waits for you to explore.
Sometimes people can hear howling sounds
mixed with eerie undead noise here; other
times, there have been rumours about
maniac laughs broking randomly at midnight. Do not worry if you fail to catch up, because Villager
of Sodium Chloride always prepare for your eternal sleep and a lullaby to Astral Plane.

COME TO SODIUM TO ENJOY THE FUN!
