Blue Marble - Our earth is home to 3.6 million people which then becomes 7 million
in 40 years. Our planet is in a perfect position about 93 million miles from the sun and
the earth's rotation assisted by the moon encourages amazing life. Apart from that, we
are also dependent on how well we are to get the things we need from the earth's crust.
Food from agriculture, wood for building materials, paper, packaging, and minerals
provide energy and the raw materials needed for homes, bridges, computers, schools,
transportation, communications and other vital systems. P&H Mining Equipment is an
equipment that designs, builds and supports and plays an important role in the mining
industry, they help to drill hard materials such as copper in iron ore rock formations
effectively for ease of loading and processing. They excavate and help crush and
transport large volumes of material, thanks to the horizon's new crusher hauling
technology.

P&H Mining Equipment is a partnership between Chicago industrial pattern maker,

Alonzo Pawling  and German immigrant machinist Henry Harnischfeger. It started on
the first day of December 1884, as a small machine and pattern shop. At that time
Alonzo was 27 and Henry 29.
Initially the small shop Pawling and Harnischfeger specialized in making parts and
machines for a major steam industry company in Old Milwaukee and engine popper
valves.
In 1887, they rebuilt the damaged crane bridge for Edward P. Allis's company.
Pawling and Henry and their business partner A.J. Shaw, who has experience in
overhead cranes, replaced damaged crane’s complex array of rope and pulleys with a
simplified set of motors and gearboxes. In 1888, the crane returned to operation and
was successful. Later Alonzo and Henry made their own product and developed it to
meet the demand for bridge cranes. Many customers were impressed by their quality
and service. Soon Alonzo and Henry started referring to their business as P&H
because it seemed easier to pronounce and initially became a symbol of quality and
service.

In 1993, when Westinghouse Electric Company bought out rival Gibbs Electric
Company, Pawling & Harnischfeger moved quickly to purchase Gibbs engineering
and manufacturing assets and began manufacturing their own industrial grade AC and
DC motors and controls that were customized on demand. 1893 was also an important
year as the "bank panic" led Pawling & Harnischfeger to realize that they needed to
expand their product line.

In 1920, the company launched a Power Shovel called the P&H model 206. This
machine had a ½-cubic-yard scoop capacity with a payload of 500 pounds. It is a
rugged well-built machine, easy to operate and easy to maintain. This machine was
shipped to Bombay India in the mid-20’s. P&H is busy with activities and designs of
more sophisticated excavating and lifting machines.

In 1927 the company introduced the line of  P&H 300 "8-in-1 convertible" engine
features a general work lower and rotating frame where customers can choose from a
variety of options including power shovel, dragline, crane hook construction,
clamshell, piledriver, magnet, "Skim-Scoop" and back-filler.

In 1930 P&H converted its entire product line to welded designs. The advantage is
that it is lighter and more resilient, for larger loads allowing for a lower cost per tonne.
Several P&H Shovels were first used for the Construction Progress Administration
construction project. It was also this year that P&H began applying the WardLennard
DC drive system to its shovels for faster digging and less fatigue for shovel operators.
The WLennard drive system allows greater tonnage per hour for mining and
construction. P&H employees concentrate on the manufacture of industrial cranes and
welding machines and electric shovels for the mining industry. The outbreak of World
War II in 1939 brought the factory slowly to full production.
In 1941, P&H focused on manufacturing domestic cranes, hoists and digging
machines industrial and for military applications. During the conflict P&H helped
build ports and runways and bridges which were damaged until 1945.

In the 1950s, P&H continued to develop its shovel for higher productivity. In 1968,
P&H introduced the P&H 2800 brand model. The first three P&H 2800 entered
services in metallurgical coal mines in the West Canada. Twenty years later, P&H
began making crawler-mounted drag lines in 1920, and it is even believed that P&H
introduced the first type dragline belongs to John W page founder the Page
Engineering Company based in Chicago in 1903.

P&H realized an opportunity to expand its reach by acquiring the dragline engine
product line in 1988. Then P&H engineers developed the P&H 90 20 class 60 meter
dragline line. In 1991 P&H acquired a gardner-denver drilling rig product line for
surface mining operations such as walking draglines and developed a drilling rig for
hard rock mining operations. In 1996 P&H 9020 class 60 meter were quickly
recognized as a good investment for coal mines in Australia and Canada.

The P&H 320 XPC is a drilling machine available in iron ore, copper and
metallurgical operations also giving rise to a new generation of high capacity haul
trucks, P&H 4100XPC electric shovel equipped with easy maintenance, time saving
and lower cost mining operations.

A shovel P&H 4100BOSS AC-drive appeared smoothly and very well in 2007 in the
Canadian Oil Sands region. In 2008 have plans for new material processing and
handling system with the P&H 4170PC. In 2010 launched the P&H 4100 X shovel PC
as the next generation. P&H provides many attractive alternatives to the P&H shovel
customized crusher haulage system with optimal management.
