TOPIC:

TEACHING-LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR MODULAR DISTANCE

LEARNING

I. Objective:

At the end of the lesson the participants will be able to:

a. Demonstrates understanding of the Teaching-Learning Activities for Modular

Distance Learning

II. Presentation of the topic

Four modalities prescribed in the LCP—face- to-face (F2F) learning, DL, blended
learning (BL), and homeschooling

A. Face-to-face (F2F) Learning is an instructional method where in it allows having a

live interaction between a learner and an instructor. It is considered as the traditional
way of instructions.

B. Distance Learning refers to the learning delivery modality where a learner is given
materials or access to resources and he/ she undertakes self- directed study at home.

C. Blended Learning is combination of the different delivery learning modalities such

as;

• Modular distance learning and online distance learning

• Modular distance learning and TV-based instructions

• Online distance learning and TV-based instructions

• Online distance learning, TV-based instructions and modular distance
learning

D. Home Schooling- a school- at- home approach in which parents replicates the
instructional process of schools, traditional instructions, giving of assignments and so
on.

A. SUGGESTED COMMUNICATION, RETRIEVAL AND DISTRIBUTION OF LEARNING

MATERIALS.

Goal: Retrieval and distribution of DepEd Issued learning Materials.

Schools shall create their own process flow for the retrieval and distribution of the
learning materials for the learners based on their unique context. They may consider
the suggested process steps below.

Step 1: Retrieval of DepEd Learners Materials

A. Communicate to learners/parents/ guardians, teachers and partner stakeholders

of the retrieval of learning materials through:

a. the school FB page /announcements

b. class advisers GC

c. text messages/call

d. messenger

d. zoom / meet online platform

e. other communication platforms

B. Inform/Direct parents or guardians to write information for each book/set of books

to be submitted to identified school hubs as to:

Information needed- class adviser, grade level, section and learner’s name.

Step 2: Communicate

Communicate the terms of reference to partner stakeholders if the materials are

easier to submit or accessible to Barangay halls through officials in charge of
education, Homeowners

Association (HOA) covered court through HOA or Purok leaders and other partner
stakeholders.

Step 3: Preparation of School

Prepare school hubs and Direct Parents to submit materials to school hubs, barangay
hail, HOA Covered Court, other drop off points and to schools' storage for disinfection,
sorting observing safety protocols based on the context of the school.

Step 4: Observed

Observe the roles of school property custodians and ensure needed manpower for
proper handling and safekeeping of learning materials.

Step 5: School Disinfection

School disinfection of learning materials through the use of UV lights, exposure to

sunlight and other safety health protocols.

Step 6: Feedback

Giving feedback to learners, parents, and guardians of the successful retrieval of

learner’s materials.

DISTRIBUTION OF LEARNING MATERIALS

1. Distribution of disinfected Learning Materials and other supporting documents

A. Communicate learners/parents/ guardians, teachers, and partner stakeholders

of the distribution of learning materials through:

a. the school PB page! announcements

b. class advisers GC

c. text messages/call

d. messenger

d. zoom / meet online platform

e. other communication platform.

2. Inform/Direct teachers or advisers to write code for each book/set of books with
guide activity sheets / learners' packet (MELC/Content/LM pages/Available
materials) to be distributed as to : class adviser, grade level, section and learner's
name.
3. Communicate the terms of reference to partner stakeholders if the materials are
easier to distribute or accessible to Barangay hails through officials in charge of
education, Homeowners Association (HOA) covered court through HOA or Purok
leaders and other partner stakeholders
4. Disseminate schedule of distribution per grade level in observance of the floor
plan, distance protocol wearing of mask or face shield, gloves and handling of
learning materials.
5. Ensure safety of people in school through disinfection of learning materials by
exposing to UV lights, exposure to sunlight, observing the floor plan with safe
distance interaction and other safety health protocols.
6. Direct parents/guardians to retrieve materials from school hubs, barangay hall,
HOA Covered court, other drop off points and schools' covered court observing
safety health protocols.
7. Get feedback from parents/ learners ensuring the successful distribution of
materials through different means of communication.

LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEETS (LAS)

CONSIDERATIONS IN MAKING LEARNERS’ PACKET AND WAYS ON HOW TO USE
LEARNER’S PACKET.

1. Organize the learner's packet objectives with purpose: Workplace logic—Look at

the chain of the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) to determine which
skills must be learned before others can be attempted.

Dependency—Determine which skills/competencies depend on the mastery of other

objectives, and which objectives are prerequisites.

Ease of mastery—Place any easily mastered skills/competencies in an earlier module

so that learners can experience success early.

2. if possible, allow learners flexibility in the sequence of packets to promote

motivation and positive attitude.

3. Determine when (in the sequence of skill/competencies or learning plan steps) it is

appropriate to check for understanding or to evaluate and when to check with the
instructor.

4. Consider color-coding the components in a printed packet for ease of recognition

by learners.

5. Integrate resources that are already available and that meet school standards for
quality, accessibility, and other criteria.

Examples: websites, related texts, videos

6. When assigning a suggested timeframe to a packet, determine the reasonable or

average time required to master the competencies.
B. WAYS ON HOW USE OF LEARNER’S POCKET

a. Distribution

1. Can be included in the distribution of DepEd issued learners materials in

observance of the safety health protocols coded per class and grade
level.
2. Schools can also distribute within their school premise to minimize number
of people who handle or transfer the materials and observe proper
handling depending on their context, resources, volunteers, and
manpower.

b. Accomplishment
1. Specify the usage of materials if they will utilize the modules or will use
other sheet for submission.

2. Ensure the specific materials to be submitted as part of assessment or

accomplishment.

c. Retrieval
1. Direct parents on specific dates and materials to be submitted in specific
school hub or kiosk strategically located or within the school for
submission.

2. Specify assigned TWG responsible for retrieval of materials and forward

information/ materials to teachers for checking, recording and
consolidation.

3. Inform teachers to give feedback to learners for teaching-learning

process improvement.

C. Communication and Technical Assistance

1. Use all types of platforms of communication and resources to make learning

effective and possible.
2. Strengthen the communities of practice.
3. Ensure that technical assistance is always to learners, parents, teachers, and
school leaders.

III. Activity
IV. Evaluation

Make a Matrix that show the learning activities that you want students learned. Please
make it sure it is based in MELC.
