Activity: Find or take some reference images which look similar to the buildings you imagine in your own
Mars Community (you can also sketch designs if you can’t find references.) Any type of architecture or
building layout is up to you! You are creating the future community for space! :) Insert at least 4 design
ideas here:

**Below are some actual research photos that were taken during the development of Treasure Cove.
The pictures were taken to demonstrate the aged, overgrown look of the buildings in the park.**

Answer the following question:


What does the plant life tell you about the land/ community and how does it make you
feel?Depending the plant life i can feel happy or scared because if a plant is green and healthy, it makes
me feel positive and if a plant is dead I feel negative and worried

Activity: Find 3 or more reference images for both the plant life and landscape of your land in your Mars
Community, then answer the following questions about your images:
● How do these images reflect the theme and story of your community? These plants make the place
look happy and peaceful

Activity 1: Create a collage of material references for the surfaces in your land/ community. You can do
this physically or virtually. It should contain images of every surface you can think of: roofs, floors, doors,
interior/exterior walls and even small details such as door handles. Include at least 5 reference images for
your collage. Add the collage here: 1.clean city 0 emissions 2. Dome shield 3. Air purifiers 4. Carbon Fiber
infrastructure 5. Airlocks across the city

Activity 2: Show this collage to a friend (or family member) and ask them what they can guess about your
community from these materials (such as the time period, location, values, and story). Be sure to note
what their response was. They said it looks like a clean and futuristic society

Answer the following questions:


● Did their ideas match your vision? A bit yeah because I wanted the clean and futuristic part
● If there were differences, what details might you change to better reflect your story? I want it to be a
peaceful society

Activity 1: Create a color palette for your land. To do this choose 3-5 key colors which will be used
throughout your land and reflect the theme and atmosphere you hope to create. You can do this physically
(paint/pencils) or digitally. Add it here: __________
○ **For example, below is a five color palette for Cars Land. Notice that the colors reflect the
environment the story takes place in (such as sky blue, sandy rock and rusty cars).**

**Challenge Option Activity 2**: Create one example of each kind of graphic which would appear for
your own land: Ghost graphic, Story graphic, and Wayfinding.
