MONTHLY EMERGENCY DRILL REPORT


To be issued at the end of each month and to be forwarded to the Company (DP).

According to SOLAS / Chapter III / Part B /Section I / Regulation 18 “Each member of the crew
shall participate in at least one abandon ship drill and one fire drill every month”. The
relevant instructions of abovementioned Regulation 18 must be precisely followed during the drill
execution. During Abandon Drill the emergency lights to be operational tested.

DETAILS OF THE DRILL:
(Fire in the Pumproom)*
0830 – Commenced drill pump room fire. All crew mustered.
0835 – Ordered check all crew on deck, pumproom clear.
0836 – Close all ventilation.
0840 – Released CO2.
0845 – Fire drill carried out and crew instructed for preparing pumproom prior release

(Abandon ship Drill)*


0850 – Abandon ship signal sounded.
0852 – All crew mustered on their respective lifeboat station and accounted for.
0854 – All life jackets checked all donned properly. Review of individual duties and
checking their assigned carrying things.
0856 – Painters laid out. Plugs in.
0859 – Lifeboats swung out at the master’s order, lowered to embarkation deck.
0900 – Lifeboat swung back in to normal stowed position. Lubricated all moving parts.
0905 – No.1 and 2 lifeboats secured. Plugs out.
0907 – Engine tested ahead and astern found satisfactorily. Secured all equipment used.
0915 – Boat drill completed.

( Bridge Telegraph Failure )*


09:20 Bridge Telegraph failed. Changed over to manual steering. Magnetic compass heading
checked.
09:21 General alarm sounded.
09:23 Mustering completed. All present and correct.
09:25 Steering gear party established contact with bridge.
09:27 Manual steering engaged, bridge unit off. Changed over to emergency steering at steering

room. No.1 steering motor running, autopilot box switched off.


09:30 Emergency steering tested.
09:35 Deck crew practiced steering from emergency position under Master’s orders.
09:40 Changed over to bridge control.
09:42 Commenced steering by non-follow up system. NFU 1 & NFU 2 utilized.
09:45 Reverted to hand steering.

09:50 Changed over to auto-pilot system. Drill completed.

SART, EPIRB, PORTABLE GMDSS RADIO, FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, EEBD.
