BACKGROUND

• Company PC to study of selling Bukit Tua sales gas to (PLN) at Gresik area.
• The PLN is 8 km south east of Bukit Tua ORF in Maspion Industrial Estate (MIE).
• There suppliers to the PLN : Company HS and Company KD
• Company HESS gas processing plant in MIE have a 20” sales gas pipeline to PLN, a feasibility study on
the possibility of tie-in to Company H sales gas pipeline to PLN is carried out.
• Production profile of Company H gas processing plant is not available, the pipeline steady-state
simulation model is limited to using the Company HESS design production rate from the Steady State
Hydraulic Analysis for Sales Gas Pipeline provided by Company HESS
• The preliminary schematic for the tie-in to existing Company HESS sales gas pipeline is shown in
Figure 2.1.
• The method of tie-in hot-tapping to avoid total plant shutdown of Company HESS gas processing
facilities

BASIS OF STUDY

Pipeline Route
• Company H sales gas pipeline route in Figure Company H sales gas pipeline started at HESS gas processing
plant battery limit then runs under the existing Maspion Road to seashore). Total length existing HESS sales
gas pipeline is approximately 8 km and the size is 20” HESS sales gas pipeline to several segments

STUDY OBJECTIVES

This study report the findings of steady state pipeline simulation for ORF pipeline tie-in to existing HESS sales
gas pipeline.
The objective of the steady state analysis is to determine :
Line size for the ORF sales gas pipeline (From ORF to Company H sales gas pipeline)
Capacity of HESS sales gas pipeline to achieve minimum delivery pressure of 29.1 barg at PLN upstream of
metering package
Pressure and temperature profiles along the pipeline route
Steady state simulations using PIPESIM corresponding to the maximum normal operations of the ORF and HESS
sales gas pipeline.

CONCLUSIONS

ORF SALES GAS PIPELINE SIZING

• Arrival pressure of incoming pipeline from Bukit Tua WHP to ORF is 41.4 barg, and HESS sales gas pipeline
pressure is 31 barg, so there is no pressure supply issue at inlet to ORF sales gas pipeline. 10” pipeline can
be used from ORF battery limit to tie-in to HESS sales gas pipeline..

Company HS SALES GAS PIPELINE CAPACITY

• Arrival pressure at PLN should be minimum 29.1 barg upstream of sales gas metering , this pipeline can
handle 181 MMSCFD gas, assuming the maximum pressure at Comany H facility is 31.03 barg.
