2.12 Management of I/O Communication Load :

FFCS-C/FFCS-V
Considering the case when the load of communication with I/O modules becomes high, you can set a
limit on the bandwidth of some communication data. As a result of this, higher priority is given to
process data exchange with I/O modules, diagnostic processing for I/O modules, and downloading to
I/O modules. You can limit the bandwidth of the following communication data:
• Data related to SOE event collection
• Data for communication with HART devices and FF-H1 devices
The bandwidth limitation is defined by using the Detailed Settings tab of the FCS Constant Builder.

TIP • Confirm the information on the I/O communication load before you change the bandwidth limit
value.
• You may leave the limitation setting to the default value as long as the FCS operates only at the
basic scan period without any I/O node extension using optical ESB bus.
• By setting the bandwidth limit value to 0, more I/O communication capability can be used to
update process data unless I/O modules having SOE function are used or the connected HART
devices and FF-H1 communicate with PRM.

n I/O Communication Bandwidth Limit Value (SOE)

▼ I/O Communication Bandwidth Limit Value (SOE)
This setting defines the communication bandwidth limit on the data related to SOE event collection.
Specify a value in the range from 0 to 10000. By default, it is set to 750.
If the amount of communication data exceeds the limit value, the FCS discontinues the device data
communication and collects the rest of the data with the next collection timing. As a result, the event
collection may be delayed. In addition, if you set this limit when many SOE events are being generated,
some of the events may be missing.

n I/O Communication Bandwidth Limit Value (Device Data

Communication)
▼ I/O Communication Bandwidth Limit Value (Device Data Communication)
This setting defines the communication bandwidth limit on the data for communication with HART
devices and FF-H1 devices. Specify a value in the range from 0 to 10000. By default, it is set to 1000.
If the amount of communication data exceeds the limit value, the FCS discontinues the device data
communication and collects the rest of the data with the next collection timing. As a result, the period of
data collection from the devices that are connected to the I/O module will be longer.
