    What were the justifications of Rizal in defense of the Filipinos who were described as
    indolent by the Spaniards?

    Rizal believed that that indolence does exist among Filipinos. The reasons are:
    • Climate
    • Limited Training and Education
    • Forced Labor/Abuse
    • Wrong Doctrines of the Church
    • Inaction of the Government
    • Corruption
    • Dismal Contradictions by the Spaniards

    2. By individual: what is the advice of Rizal to the Filipino youth which are still very relevant
    today?

    It states that the Filipino youth are capable of great things. It urges the Filipino youth to discover
    oneself and reach their potential by making use of skills and talents for the improvement of our
    fellow countrymen.
