TSKS/TSCS (uprated) & TLKS/TLCS Couplings

Comments to API 671 4th Edition 2007 (ISO 10441:2007)

Special Purpose Couplings for Petroleum, Chemical and Gas Industry Services

The standard range of TSKS/TSCS & TLKS/TLCS couplings are not specifically
designed to meet the requirements of API 671 4th ed. 2007, but these couplings
can be entirely suitable for the duties indicated. Please note the following
exceptions, some of which can be met, if specified at an additional cost.
N.B. TSKS/TSCS UPRATED SIZES = 0014, 0025, 0055, 0120, 0215 & 0360

8.0 Coupling requirements

8.9.1 & 8.9.2 Fit Tolerances Clause
Unless API 671 balancing is required, the following geometric tolerance fits are supplied
as standard (see 9.0 Balance).

 Hub spigots eccentric to the bore to within 0.03mm (0.001in) TIR

 Hub mating faces square to within 0.05mm (0.002in) TIR

8.9.3 Inherent Balance Clause

Coupling inherent balance meets the ANSI/AGMA 9000-C90 Class 9 as standard up the
maximum unbalanced speed for each coupling size.

8.10.3 Locking Fasteners Clause

Deformed-thread self-locking nuts are not used. Bolt threads are retained by use of a
thread locking feature (Emuge thread on hub bolts, thread locking compound on drive
bolts).

9.0 Balance
Couplings will normally be supplied with the transmission unit and hubs balanced as
components to ISO 21940-11:2016 G2.5 if requested. API 671 balance requirements can be
achieved if specified at additional cost.

12.3 Inspection
12.3.2 Inspection Documentation Clause
a) Parts are manufactured from certified materials. Specifics regarding traceability and
material certification can be provided if specified at additional cost.
b) Non-destructive testing is not carried out on standard components. This can be
provided if specified at additional cost.
c) Components are inspected for conformance to drawing only. Inspection reports are
not generated as standard and dimensions are not recorded. This can be provided if
specified at additional cost.

12.3.4 Non-destructive Testing Clause

Wet magnetic-particle, florescent or dye penetrant testing is not conducted as standard
on T-Series components. This process can be provided if specified at additional cost.
