1.0 DEFINITIONS

1.1 HOLD POINT (H)


The inspection and test activity is a mandatory inspection/verification and acceptance point for
Subcontractor, Contractor, Company, and Authority (if applicable) and the subsequent activity
beyond this hold point must not proceed without the approval by these parties.

1.2 WITNESS (W)


An activity that requires witnessing by subcontractor contractor and company Subcontractor /
contractor shall notify company in advance. After formal notification work can proceed if
company inspector is not available to attend or to witness the activity on the date notified.

1.3 SPOT WITNESS POINT (SW)


A designated point during or following an activity at which spot inspection or spot examination
is required in accordance with the relative procedure. Work may proceed through the
designated witness point if the inspector is not present for the previously established activity.
No formal notification is required.

1.4 REVIEW (R)


Assess adequacy and completeness of Quality Control Documents, such as the inspection and
test record, other QCR and certificates. Reviews must be documented using the approved
Inspection form or Quality Control Records (QCR) form.
No formal notification is required.
