My hometown is a famous historical and cultural city——Nanjing.Nanjing is located in the

eastern part of China, the Yangtze river downstream, jiang offshore, is China's eastern command

headquarters, the national logistics hub, the Yangtze river international shipping logistics center,

radiation Yangtze river delta important gateway cities, driving the development of the central and

western regions of the country is also the eastern coastal economic belt and the important node

of the junction of the Yangtze river economic belt strategic city.

Firstly, I will introduct the history of Nanjing.

In 473 BC, after the state of Yue destroyed Wu, fan li built the city of Yue in Changganli,

outside the gate of China.

In 333 BC, King xiong shang of chu wei built jinling city in the stone city.

In 229, sun quan established his capital moling (now Nanjing) and changed moling to jianye.

Since then, song, qi, liang and Chen of the eastern jin and southern dynasties successively

established their capitals here, hence Nanjing is known as the "ancient capital of the six

dynasties".

In 1356, Zhu yuanzhang captured jiqing (now Nanjing) and changed it to yingtianfu.

In 1368, the Ming dynasty was founded with Nanjing as its capital. Nanjing became the

political, economic and cultural center of China, ushering in the second peak in history.

In August 1840, China and Britain signed the treaty of Nanjing.

On March 29, 1853, the taiping heavenly kingdom made Nanjing its capital.

The republic of China was proclaimed in Nanjing on January 1, 1912

 Jiang jieshi established the nationalist government in Nanjing in April 1927.

From December 1937 to January 1938, Nanjing defended itself, also known as the Nanjing

massacre.

Nanjing’s history is hard to introduce completely, it’s so long and so rough. It is worth

remembering.

And then, I want to introduce my home.

I lived in a high-rise buildings in the downtown,just near Confucius temple and beside

Qinhuai River.This is one of the most prosperous area in Nanjing.Because it is the edge of the

scenic area, there are many snacks and small shops near my home. Out of the community door,

the face is a kindergarten, called: Zhonghua Road kindergarten. There are many small restaurants

near the kindergarten. Whenever I feel hungry at home, I like to choose a favorite restaurant to

solve the problem of hunger. It is simple and affordable. Just one block down the main street is a

huge shopping mall, Aqua City. There are lots of shops here and everything you want to buy.

Therefore, the flow of people is particularly large.Beside the large shopping center is Confucius

temple scenic area。

Confucius Temple is located in Gongyuan Street on the North Bank of Qinhuai River in

Zhonghua Gate, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. It is a place to worship and sacrifice Confucius. In

the first year of Jingyou in the Northern Song Dynasty (1034 A.D.), xuanwang temple was built

here.In the early period of the Southern Song Dynasty, it was destroyed by the fire and war.

During the period of Shaoxing, it was rebuilt to build the Kangfu school and the imperial

examination hall Gongyuan. There is Mingde hall in the school. The hall was originally written by

Wen Tianxiang, a hero of Wu nationality in the late Southern Song Dynasty. Zeng Guofan in the
Qing Dynasty was changed to seal script.Yuan is Jiqing road school. At the beginning of Ming

Dynasty, it was the Imperial College, and later it was changed to Tianfu school. In Qing Dynasty, it

was the county school of Jiangning and Shangyuan. The existing buildings were rebuilt in

1869.The Confucius Temple uses the Qinhuai River as pan pool, with Zhaobi on the south bank,

surrounded by dikes. There are star gathering Pavilion, sileting, Lingxing, Dacheng, Rencheng hall,

Mingde hall, Zunjing Pavilion, Chongsheng temple, Leixing Pavilion and other buildings.From the

Six Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the area of Confucius Temple was prosperous.

After liberation, it has become a place of cultural activities for the masses.

Many ancient poets traveled here and left poems here.

Take Liu yuxi as an example. He had written the famous poem Wuyi or Swallows' Lane.

Beside the Zhuque Bridge wild flowers thickly grow,

Along the Wuyi Lane the sun is setting low.

Where once the swallows knew the mansions of the great,

They now to humbler homes would fly to nest and mate.

This poem shows the prosperous history of Nanjing. Especially Tang dynasty, many poets in

the tang dynasty left immortal poems for later generations. These poems are written so well that

future generations will never surpass it. They are excellent depictions of people and things in

Nanjing, They are the epitome of Nanjing.

Though there is no endless sea, no winding Great Wall, but here is the famous Ming City

Wall, there is a long history and culture, there are spectacular high-rise buildings. Nanjing is a

beautiful scenery all the year round. In spring, the purple mountain is full of vitality, the tree

trunk shoots out, the branches bear colorful small fruit. Summer, Xuanwu Lake lotus blossoms,
lotus leaves green green, like a small umbrella, lotus blossoms very exuberant, pink pink. In

autumn, the maple leaves of Qixia Mountain turn red, like palms, slowly falling down from the

trees. In winter, the plum blossom mountain, a blossoming pink plum hanging in the branches.

My hometown is also used some characteristics snacks, but even the most famous beside

I love my hometown, love its landscape, love its history and culture, love its snacks delicious

food, love it all.Of course, I will also do my part for the development of Nanjing. If I have the

opportunity to go abroad in the future, I will also promote Nanjing culture and Nanjing spirit to

friends around the world. I hope Nanjing will have a better development. We will develop

Nanjing into a leading city in the country and serve as a model for the further realization of the

"Chinese Dream" throughout the country. With the development of The Times, Nanjing will build
