Purpose ‘This MES aims at assuring proper quality by standardizing specifications. Remarks 1. This MES, together with the engineering standards shown in Table 1, conveys the required specifications as part of the Specification Drawing. 2. This MES (MES PW 67600) shall be used as the representative of the standards of “Electronic Components” including the standards shown in Table 1 3. Ifthe suffix of any of the standards in Table 1 has been changed, the suffix of this MES shall be changed accordingly. Report on Evaluation Results Report on evaluation results shall conform to section 3 (Report on Evaluation Results) of each standard shown in Table 1. 4, Definitions of Terms ‘The following show the definitions of terms used in MES PW 67600B, or MES PW 67601 & MES PW 67602: (A) Circuit The whole path of electric currents, including an electrical energy source. 2) Function —_The qualitative representation of a required capacity to satisfy the intended use of a system (an intend action or property). (14) Emissions The capability of a component or system to suppress an undesired electromagnetic energy emissions causing electromagnetic interference. (45) Artificial Network A network which is inserted in the supply line of the electronic ‘component to be tested, includes, in a given frequency band, the specified load impedance for the measurement of disturbing voltage, and which isolates the component from the power supply for EMC. (26) Dwell time The applying time of electric field/current/power necessary to ensure complete monitoring of electromagnetic interference in immunity tests. 27) Tri-Plate Line Test equipment used for the radiated immunity tests, which consists of three parallel conductive plates capable of developing uniform electromagnetic fields and is capable of generating a wide range of high field strength with relatively low electric power. The TPL is similar to a TEM cell with the except that it has no side walls. ‘This is primarily used to expose both test sample and a wiring harness to the electric field because a test area is relatively large. Criteria Criteria shall conform to the criteria specified in the standards shown in Tables 1. 7. Evaluation Methods 7.1 Common items 7.1.1 Omission of test _If the component is considered to have met the criteria, a test may be ‘omitted, provided that its evidence is submitted to the responsible Mazda Engineering Dept. for previous approval. 7.1.2 Sequence of tests __The test sample shall pass all tests, regardless of the test sequence. In actuality, however, the number of test samples and test period are restricted and multiple tests are required to be performed concurrently. In that case, the test sequence shall be arranged in consideration of recommended test sequence, requirements and other constraints such as the number of available test samples, restrictions on test time, labor costs, and restrictions on instruments. This test sequence shall be approved by the responsible Mazda Engineering Dept. 7.2 Meteorological environment Conform to the evaluation method specified in MES PW 67601 section 7.2. 7.3 Mechanical environment Conform to the evaluation method specified in MES PW 67601 section 7.3. 7.4 Chemical environment Conform to the evaluation method specified in MES PW 67601 section 7.4. 7.5 Durability Conform to the evaluation method specified in MES PW 67601 section 7.5. 7.6 Radiated immunity Conform to the evaluation method specified in MES PW 67602 section 7.6. 7.7 Conducted immunity Conform to the evaluation method specified in MES PW 67602 section 7.7. 7.8 Radiated emissions Conform to the evaluation method specified in MES PW 67602 section 7.8. 7.9 Conducted emissions Conform to the evaluation method specified in MES PW 67602 section 7.9. 8. Revision of Standard ‘The MES revision shall be made in accordance with MES Suggestion Sheet. 9. Indication Methods on Specification Drawing MES PW 67600 "Electronic component specifications other than those on the drawing shall conform to MES PW 676008" shall be stated in the specification block on Specification Drawing.
