Frequency Modulation

Name: Rimsha Kanwal

Roll Number: 150252
Class: BEE-8B (Power)

Date: March 21, 2019

Objective:
To perform DSB-SC demodulation using coherent detection.

Equipment required:
 Oscilloscope
 Function generator
 Trainer
 AD 632 IC
 Spectrum analyser

Theory:

Procedure:
1. Generate a dsb-sc wave.
2. Patch the demodulator circuit
3. Apply the DSB-SC wave to the input of the demodulator.
4. Observe the output of the demodulator on the oscilloscope. The output will be
message signalbut containing the high frequency.
5. Design a low pass filter with a cutoff frequency just higher than the frequency of the
message signal by selecting suitable value of resistor and capacitor
6. Connect the output of the modelatorto the input of low pass filter
7. Observe the output of the signal it will be a message signal.
Output:

Conclusion:  to obtain original signal the incoming DSBSC signal is multiplied by a pure
sinewave that must be the same frequency as the DSBSC signal's suppressed carrier. This
sinewave is generated by the receiver and is known as the local carrier.
