PHLGA MEETING MINUTES

Date: May 27, 2021

Call to Order: PHLGA President Linda Ward called the meeting to order at 12:18

In Attendance: There were 22 members in attendance.

Approval of minutes: There was no meeting held in April and March minutes
were approved.
From Our President: Linda told us she was well on the road to recovery and
was looking forward to returning to the golf course soon.
Reports:
Treasurers Report: Submitted by Karen Lord and Presented by Candy Baker

(a) Operating Fund: $3,732.17


(b) Kactus Kapers Fund: $3,227.94
(c) Cash in Bank Account: $6,960.11

Border: Presented by Jean Davis


(a) Congratulations to those who played at NMSU we made 29 points.
(b) The next Border event will be at Desert Lakes June 22, 2021.
(c) Senior Women’s will be played at Socorro June 6, 2021.

Kactus Kapers: Presented by Janis Paul

(a) Janis announced that the invitations for Kactus Kapers had gone out.
She encouraged everyone that was planning on participating to let her
know as soon as possible.

(b) Candy Slover informed us that there would be no cold calling for the
Raffle this year because of Covid. She asked that if we were able to
donate something for the Raffle would be appreciated. She suggested
that if we did business with a vendor and we thought they might like to
donate an item or service to please ask on our behalf. All vendors will
receive Thank you notes.
(c) Candy also said that we were going to have a money tree and that
donations would be supported by all the members.
(d) Donna Lafreniere said that they were working on getting prices for the
Big Break cocktail party on Tuesday and the Cocktail party and Dinner on
Wednesday night for those members that wanted to attend that were
not participating in the tournament.

Historian: Presented by Candy Slover

(a) Candy announced Just Gals was expecting to start again in July much to
everyone’s delight.

Advisory Board Feedback: Presented by Paula Hansen

(a) Breakfast/Brunch has started on Saturday and Sunday mornings.


(b) New Lunch and Dinner menus are expected soon. The Dinner menu will
change every 4 months.
(c) We will be having more music entertainment in the pub.
(d) In June there is a Tequila dinner, it is by reservation only.
(e) Most of the special dinners will be seating between 30-40 people.
(f) Cows are still an on-going issue.
(g) We now have a pastry Chef, homemade bread daily and goodies will be
available.

(h) Starting times for Thursday play is 8:00 for the ladies playing 18 holes
and 8:30 for ladies playing 9 holes.

Playday: Presented by Paula Hansen:

(a) No report given.

From the Pro’s: Mike Dixon and Nick Finkel had a discussion on the 14 most
important rules that the USGA has issued. It was helpful and they answered
questions from the ladies to help us have a better understanding of the changes.

Voting:
(a) No new issue was voted on.
