Tell Me a Story

Bunny Hop
#Z"OO%PSFSt"SUCZ&WB.BSJB(FZ5SFOBEP

See the little bunny go hop, hop hop.

After you’ve read this story several times, turn it into a

fingerplay. Help your child hold up two fingers to make
“bunny ears.” Have fun acting it out together.
Please little bunny,
Please, bunny
won’t you stop, stop, stop?
I will pat your furry back. Won’t you stay?
But up jumped the bunny
and he hopped away.

Papa’s Little
Patty-Cakes
#Z)FJEJ#FF3PFNFSt"SU CZ$MBJSF,FBZ

Patty-cakes, patty-cakes.
Papa picks her up and holds her.
Read the poem and talk about how the girl looks when Papa
picks her up and swings her. Does she look happy? Then ask
your child if he would like you to flip him on your shoulder.
If he says yes, enjoy acting this out with your little one.
Papa swings her high and low
And f lips her on his shoulder!

forget the dog! What do you
think he’s smelling?

My Best Day
Story and Art by Maggie Smith

Saturday’s my favorite day.

’Cause that’s when Nana comes.

After reading the story, help your child look on each

page for the puppet Nana brought. Turn to the cover
to find the puppet again. Then pull out a sock and
make and play with your own puppet.
She tickles me. She hugs me tight.
She calls me Honey Bun.
We laugh and play.

We eat.
We read. It’s fun when Nana comes!

Look

Mommy
Found!
By Rikki B. Romerez

Jilly-jelly belly button,

Hiding in your middle.

When you read, point to

your baby’s belly button.
Then read the poem
again and say a different
body part, such as knee
or nose. Don’t worry
about making the poem
rhyme. Your child will
enjoy the sound of your
voice and the tickles.
