As Head of English Department, it is my immense pleasure to recommend Nyoman Mega

Sumamelati Degeng as one of LPDP Scholarship candidates to continue her study into Yonsei
University Graduate Program on Seoul, South Korea.

I had the opportunity to observe Mega since 2010 as my students in English Language and
Literature at State University of Malang as she happened to take some of my classes on
2010-2011. Mega was one of my students who has strong eagerness and enthusiasm to
study as well as keen willingness to learn. Her passion on arts reflects positively on her
performance which accordingly gave me good impression.

Besides that, she also actively participated on the activity outside Campus, mainly for vocal
art/art music. Mega becomes one of vocal teachers since 2012 at Bina Vokal Suara Narwatu,
the well-known vocal course in Malang. On 2010, she had the chance to join National
Competition of ‘Suara Indonesia’ held by TRANS TV. In addition, Mega also joined
International Formal Vocal Examination conducted by The Associated Board of the Royal
Schools of Music from London and achieved Distinction on level 5. During this time, Mega
was chosen to be head committee of Narwastu Singer, a choir team under Bina Vokal Suara
Narwastu and during her period of leadership she was able to make Narwastu Singers got
Gold Diploma on Choir Competition held by Airlangga University on 2014, as well as the 1st
place for two categories (Equal Choir & Mixed Choir) held by Universitas Kristen Petra
Surabaya within the same year. For the next October, Mega already got the invitation to join
the competition with Narwastu Singers Team on Busan Choral Festival & Competition in
Busan, South Korea.

Personally, I come to my conclusion that Mega has talent and strong characteristic in arts.
Her confidence and easy-going personality outweigh her characteristics. She also has a good
manner and respect towards elder. Her strong talent on performing arts (drama/theater
and art vocal) was shown by the time she became main character for two drama projects in
Drama Class 2010, supported by her other achievements on art music.
Because of her passion, drive to succeed, and proven abilities, I know with all confidence
that her talents will become an asset and Mega is a worthy candidate for the scholarship. I
do believe that Mega will be one of the most promising students in your program, valuing
her natural ability and talent along with her enthusiasm which is considered extraordinary
at her age. This scholarship, will sure give her opportunity to get valueable and priceless
lessons as well as significant change, not only for Mega herself, but also people surround
her. Thus, I would like to appreciate your most favorite considerations to her, and it would
