Introduce myself

Hello teacher, my name’s Cao Ngoc. Today I’m glad for this opportunity to
introduce myself.
At present, I am a se/i/’nior student in Saigon university a senior at Sai Gon
University. I’m studying bussiness adminisstration. I was born and grew up in
Ho Chi Minh city. As for my family, There are 4 people in my family: My
parents, my brother and me. They are workers and we are live in Go Vap
district.
I’m interested in many things such as traveling, watching movies in the cinema
and reviewing some food street.
After graduation, I wish I could became a flight attendant. I know to became
this , I have to good English communication skill I know that becoming a flight
attendant, I must be good at communicating English. So I’m still try to practice
English everyday. That’s all about me. Thanh you for your listening.

TOPIC 1: The benefits of learning English

1.5 billion people are speaking English today. All over the world, English
is the default choice of many countries. And then, the benefits of learning
English are immense and vast.
Firstly, In communication, English becomes the primary mediator
for delivering or sharing information. English is used in many places
and seems it has been dominate the world communications. In addition
to, international travelers believe that speaking English fluently makes
them feel easier and more comfortable in traveling anywhere.
Secondly, In the growth of technology, English also takes a large
part. Almost every electronic devices use English especially computer
and internet. People should understand English to operate technology
devices because every command in the computer is in English. Moreover,
In the internet, there is a lot of information written in English such as e-
mail, blogs and social network.
Finally, In education, the international student should have
capability to speak, read and write in English. English will help
students communicate better with both their friends and teachers. If
students know English well, they also will be able to read and understand
the great work in literature which related with their study.
In conclusion, English is really important and necessary for all
people. I believe that no one can deny significant importance of
English.

TOPIC 2: The advantages and disadvantages of living in a big city

The places where we live affects greatly in our lifestyles and the living
place is one of the very basic needs for people. In my opinion, I prefer
living in a big city. However, there are both the disadvantages and the
advantages in living here.

About the advantages, firstly, city is the place of high living standard.
It develops infrastructure. There are lots of hospitals or other health care
center, education and especially entertainment including tourism
attractions, shopping centers, cinemas, parks and so on.
Secondly, there are big challenge and opportunity to build the career
and business because the big city attracts a lot of foreign investors. We
can offer better job vacancies.
Besides advantages, living in the city brings us a lot of disadvantages:
First of all, a big city is mostly busy and crowded; it also has many
people with cars living in it. It causes air pollution and there is usually
traffic on the road especially at rush hours. Secondly, vegetables, foods,
fruits are normally stored and mixed with preservation and cause
serious harms to the health. Finally, the city people do not know
persons who live in the next door and there is less personal
relationship in a community.
In general, not only in a big city but also anywhere we live in, there are
both positives and negatives. However, in my mind, I still like living in
big city because there is not only good education but also provides the
best medical facilities.

TOPIC 3: The traffic in Ho Chi Minh City

Traffic in Ho Chi Minh City is really bad. There are a lot of problems
which make traffic becomes worse and worse, lower and lower. Now, I’d
like to present some problems and ways to solve them.
The first problem in HCMC is vehicles. There are billions kinds of
vehicles on the road every day and night such as buses, taxis, cars and
motorbikes. However, there are no rules when moving on the street or
road and as this result,
the traffic often happens in the rush hours.
The second problem in HCMC is the low infrastructure. The road is
too small and narrow; the traffic system does not work well. Traffic lights
need to set more on the intersections to ensure people walk safely across
the road or on the pavement (sidewalk). The government should expand
roads, build more railways, motorways …
Finally, People’s behavior when moving on the street is really poor.
They always want to move as fast as possible and do not care about
everybody around them. It is dangerous for people to control their
vehicles. The government should train more carefully about traffic rules
to people and increase more traffic police.
In conclusion, the traffic in HCM city is so bad now. However, it will
be better if everyone respects traffic rules and especially respect everyone
who is taking part in transportation together.

TOPIC 4: According to you, which job is the most interesting? Why?

There are plenty of good jobs in our society. In my opinion, working as a

flight attendant is the most interesting. This is the dream of the whole my
life.
Firsty, flight attendant has good income. A flight attendant's salary
varies based on the individual's level of experience. Additionally In
addition, the airline, geographic location, and the ability to speak other
languages may also affect pay levels??? (don’t understand). In Vietnam,
the average income for a flight attendant is 1,000 USD/month.
Secondly, you will be working in a special environment - the sky. If
you like to see clouds, the views from above, I think this flight attendant
is a job suitable for you. Moreover, you can go everywhere around the
word for free.
Finally, You will learn many things like life skills, frist aid way,... to
protect passengers. Passengers' safety and the flight deck's security
are your concerns. You have to assist passengers in emergencies,
keeping them calm and safe. Sometimes you can use that skill to protect
yourself.
For many reasons, I still believe that flight attendant is the best job at
present. Many people give up your job to become a stewardess. I will try
more and more to complete my dream.

TOPIC 5: Only good education can help us find a job easily

Education can hold a key role not only finding a job but also landing your
finance. You level of education can affect your income and chances to
promote.
Firstly, work productivity and opportunity is really important. In
fact, people who attend college or university have greater work
opportunities to apply skills in their jobs. There is a direct correlation
between the level of education you achieve and the ability you find a job.
Secondly, education can improve job skills. Time spent in college or
university helps you master both basic and advanced skills. Skills in
reading, writing and communicating will improve and become a
successful key in a competitive job market.
Thirdly, education creates opportunities for advancement. After
you’ve found a job, the benefits of education continue. Higher education
may be a requirement for managerial positions. Besides, you will have
enough conditions for the higher-paying positions.
In general, education is really important and necessary for everybody to
find a
good job. In my opinion, I think both children and adults need to advance
their own
education in present and in the future.
 TOPIC 6: In your opinion, what is the most useful machine these
days? Why? Do you think it is the most useful?

Among the most useful machine these days, I think that the computer is
the most
important because of these reasons.
Firstly, when the computer is connected to the Internet, it is a good
way of learning and getting information. I can read newspapers online
and download lots of information from the web pages. Besides that, I can
learn online as well.
Secondly, computer is convenient. It helps me work faster by typing or
printing documents and storing data.
Finally, computer is a good way to entertain with many kinds of
games and entertainments. There are a lot of games and online
activities such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram which you can share
ideas with my friends can also listen to music or watch movies if I like.
In fact, computers have invaded almost all the fields and we can not
imagine the world without computers. Nowadays, the technology
develops more and more; and it has become necessary for everyone to
have the advanced knowledge about computer.
TOPIC 7: What is the means of transportation you like most? Why?
Transportation is an important issue to consider here in Vietnam. In my
country, it’s really hard to move with public transportations. So, I have
my own motorbike. I like motorbike very much because there are
some reasons:
Firstly, motorbike is much more flexible and economical.
The streets in Vietnam are quite narrow and I often have stuck in rush
hours. Besides that, parking is a big problem for everybody and riding
motorbike is an easy way to park.
Secondly, motorbike is cheaper than other vehicles in Vietnam.
Motorbike is affordable for most of Vietnamese. The average cost of it is
just around $1000, while buying a new branch car will cost at least ten
thousand US dollars.
Finally, motorbike is convenient to discover the unseen places. You
can explore fantastic destinations and new things around us freely.
In general, the means of transportation are ones of the most
important inventions of century. Nowadays, we can a lot of choices to
use means of transportation to go wherever we want such as trains,
airplanes, or ferries.
