 FERNANDO AMOROLO
- is the first National Artist of the Philippines. He is a portraitist and painter of
rural landscapes. He is best known for his craftsmanship and mastery in the
use of light. Fernando is one of the most important artists in the history of
painting in the Philippines.
 FERNANDO POE JR
- Ronald Allan K. Poe, popularly known as Fernando Poe, Jr. was cultural icon
of tremendous audience impact and cinema artist and craftsman- as actor,
director, writer, producer, and politician.
 LANG DULAY
- She is known for maintaining the use of traditional motifs in T'nalak weaving
amidst commercialization of the craft which saw the introduction of more
modern designs by non-T'bolis. She notably had a mental repertoire of

The National Living Treasures Award, alternatively known as the Gawad sa


Manlilikha ng Bayan is conferred to a person or group of artists recognized
by the Government of the Philippines for their contributions to the country's
intangible cultural heritage.

1. She was a Filipino traditional weaver who was a recipient of the National Living
Treasures Award. With her skills and talent making traditional clothes of T’boli
she was being considered to be part of Gawad sa Manlilikha ng bayan.
2. Her art gives huge impact of the people of SOCSARGEN especially in the Lake
Sebu, it is a huge honor for the people of SOCSARGEN that there is one that
have a talent of being a weaver, the place is well known and the country is well
known because of her talent. Because of this the Lake Sebu area is even better
known for the land of weaver.
3. What I’ve learned is although even if you are old; do not give up on your talents
and dreams because age is not important to show your talent. As long as you
have life and talent shown to people, they will appreciate your work.
4. So overwhelming because what she does is not just for her, it is for her people
and the country.

Juan F. Nakpil- Nakpil's greatest contribution is his belief that there is such a thing as


Philippine Architecture, espousing architecture reflective of Philippine traditions and
culture.

Lang Dulay- She is credited with preserving her people's tradition of weaving T'nalak, a
dyed fabric made from refined abaca faber.
Additional Activities

- If I have a chance to talk to one of national artist it is Juan F. Nakpil, because


I want to be an architect soon I want to have some tips with him how to be a
great architect.
