keep up we must change the paradigm of assessment
method to deliver what is in-demand by today’s trends to
incorporate the qualification in compliance to
globalization. Therefor Authentic assessment is the
most suitable form of methodology in assessing
students ability and performance over traditional
assessment methodology, because authentic
assessment aims to evaluate students' abilities in
'real-world' contexts. In other words, students learn how
to apply their skills to authentic tasks and projects.
Authentic assessment does not encourage rote learning
and passive test-taking.furthermore, it is a measurement
of "intellectual accomplishments that are worthwhile,
significant, and meaningful beyond the school. Authentic
assessment tends to focus on contextualized tasks,
enabling students to demonstrate their competency in a
more 'authentic' setting. Examples of authentic assessment
categories include ,performance of the skills, or
demonstrating use of a particular knowledge, simulations
and role plays, studio portfolios, strategically selecting
items.
Traditional assessment are what we typically
think about when we remembering most of our
childhood testing experiences and there are
several reasons on about why teachers use
traditional assessment.
◼ First is that they are easy for teachers to
administer.teachers use a key to check a

way to “teach to the test.” In traditional
assessments, teaching to the test is
unwise. Because authentic assessment
requires a student to demonstrate

⚫ In Application of Knowledge by giving
students an opportunity to apply their
knowledge rather than simply recalling
it to answer a question on the test,
authentic assessment often tells a
teacher more about how much the
student really understands. It also
allows the students to deepen their
understanding and construct new
meaning from what they already know
because authentic assessment requires
more analysis and synthesis of
information. While we may need to
recall information in our daily lives, our
jobs or higher levels of education, we
are more often required to apply our
knowledge to new situations.
⚫ In traditional assessment it gives the
student the ability to develop best
decision making skills that they can
also apply in real world situations. And I
believed that this skill also is relevant to
modern society.
