and Infographics

JLU ID: JLU05137

Roll Number: 2020MBA005

Name: Shivendra kumar

ANSWER

SECTION – A:

1. b) Yes
2. a) False
3. b) Comparing the actual against the target
sales
4. a) True

SECTION – B

1. There are many ways to achieve data

storytelling. Whether it is print or digital,
pictures, graphics, charts and pictures to the
help the audience to understand and make
information easier. The fact humans as a
species visual learners. Theay have 60,000
times more visuals than text.
2. If your data source does not include the fields
you are looking for, you can create a
calculated field.

Create the calculated field

First open Tableau and then select Analysis

and create calculated field. In the help of
calculated editor then open given the
calculated field name (Profit), and then
enter a formula “SUM([Profit])” , and then
finished , click OK .

3. a). Area Chart – The area chart is like a line

chart in terms of how data values are plotted
on the chart and connected using line
segments , An the area chart is a good choice
when you want to see volume change over a
period of time , without focusing on specific
data values .

b). Heat map - The heatmap is defined as a

graphical representation of the data using
colors to visualize the value of the matrix. In
this, bright colors to represent more common
values or higher activities are originally used,
and darker colors are preferred for lower
normal or activity values. The heatmap is also
defined as the shading matrix.

SECTION – C

1. Briefly explain set in tableau?

Ans- Tableau set is a custom file that is used
to hold subsets of data based on some
condition. Tableaux in real time can create a
set by selecting members from the list. Or by
typing a custom condition or selecting some
records up or down based on the
measurement value.
Sets in tableaux can be beneficial. For
example, to make the top 10 states by profit,
sales amount exceeding the minimum
threshold, products with negative benefits,
etc. In this article, we will show you how to
create a tableau set with an example.the list.
Or by typing a custom condition or selecting
some records up or down based on the
measurement value.

In this example, we will show you “How to

Create Set in Tableau.”

Tableaux are the meaning of continuous

set members, and once constructed, they do
not change. To create consecutive sets in
Tableau, please select the members you want
to include in your settings. Next, select the
set icon in the tooltip and click the Set…
option as shown below.
Once you click on the Create Set .. option,
and then,

Select Name , Members and Add to Filters

Shelf and then click OK the finish creating our first
Tableau set.
2. How can you create more accurate, more
effective data visualizations?

Ans – There are many type that create more

accurate , effective data vaisulazions.

a) Data visualizations should have a clear

purpose and audience:

The purpose of data visualization is to

communicate insights from data more quickly to
the viewer and to clarify trends. All too often
the mark on communicating insights in
visualization is missed because they are not
created for a clear purpose and audience.

Whether the scene is for yourself or for an

internal or external audience, limit the purpose
of the scene and make the audience understand
that it is going to affect. This should guide both
your data exploration and your data
presentation. A clear objective will help you
know how to compare different data ranges,
where to start when choosing different data sets
to make the final data visualization, or to make
the final visualization.

b) Choose the right type of viz or chart for your

data:

This type of chart you use will either contribute

to or differentiate your data story. There can be
many types of charts that can be effective; Why
is it that you need to be very clear on your
purpose and audience for your data
visualization, as they can both tip which chart
would be best.

c) Use text and labels to clarify, not clutter:

The text can either be used to your advantage,

or it can be cluttered and detached from your
point. The data on the visualization can come in
the form of labels, a short summary paragraph,
a title, legend, etc. On all occasions the text is
meant to enhance the interpretation of
visualization, not to divert attention from the
data.

d) Use color to highlight important information

or to differentiate or compare:

Color can make data visualization more

interesting and attractive. But, we have certainly
seen data visualization where color is overused,
leads to misinterpretation, or adds confusion
rather than just explanation. Color should
always be clear and draw attention to the
purpose of your data visualization. If color does
not add meaning or enhance interpretation, you
probably do not need it.

e) Avoid misleading visualizations:

We believe that your purpose in creating

visualizations is not to mislead your audience.
Even though we see that all people change their
visualizations in ways that do not allow for an
honest presentation or interpretation of the
data. Here are some common mistakes for
misinterpretation of your data.

3. What are the applications of Parameters?

Ans – The parameters in Tableau are the
workbook variables like parameter number,
date, or calculated fields that allow users to
change a constant value in a count, filter, or
reference line.

For example, the user may create a new

calculated field that returns true if the
aggregation of total digits is greater than 90%
and returns incorrect if less than 90%. Users can
change the constant value of "90%" in the
formula with the parameters in the tableau
according to the requirements. With parameter
control, users can dynamically vary threshold
values in their calculations.

Tableaux has many possibilities to create

parameters based on user requirements. In this
practical section, you will see the most
frequently used parameters. Here, this tutorial
will use the sample superstore dataset available
in Tableau Public.
