ACTIVITY WEEK 1

2. Reflect your own experiences according to the stages.

1. Silent/ receptive

At my early stages, I finally agreed that the paint job was sloppy and would have to be
redone that I am struggled to respond every conversation nonverbally by pointing
gesturing and nodding due to lack of oral skills. Bahasa Bidayuh was my mother
tongue but not English this has given me more hard time to communicating in any that
are related to English.

2. Early production

I started to develop my speaking and writing skills when I was in kindergarten. From
this stage I jumped to have greater understanding by produce limited number of
words, phrases, and simple sentences. I blundered with my words due to lack of self-
confidence but teachers and family gave me their great support.

3. Speech emergence

When I was in primary school, I have more better comprehension and I can produce
simple sentences. Due to a lot of exercise my understanding on English are way
better

4. Intermediate fluency

During my secondary year, I can communicate English way better than before. I
literally can express my thoughts and feelings using better English.

5. Continued language development/advanced fluency

My English are way more advanced. Even I can speak more fluent and advanced
English there is a way long journey and things I need to learn to be a good
English speaker.
