find vintage-style clothes and find

hipsters. Have you noticed that you
have more hipster friends in your
social circle?

Gerson: Well, sincerely I would like

to know something Ivana, how would
I recognize a hipster if he crossed me
on the street?

Ivana: Hipsters generally wear skinny

jeans and large thick-rimmed glasses,
whether they need to wear them or not.

Gerson: Waoh. Ivana, honestly,

had no idea about the interesting
things you tell us. Listening friends of
“Despierta Perú”, if you have any
questions about the hipster trend, send
us a message on the fan page with:
“#YoquieroserunHispter”, well: And
what can you tell us about hipster
women?

Ivana: Well, they are less easy to

identify, but like men, they wear
vintage-style clothes, dresses in floral
prints, you know ... the kind of things
their grandmothers might have worn.

Gerson: So for hipsters,

Old is cool?
Ivana: Yes, and that applies to the
things they own. You will see that they
love objects such as: record player,
old-fashioned cameras, typewriters ...
that sort of thing ... But what I should
explain about hipsters is that they don't
really want to be labeled as hipsters.
They don't want to be part of a group,
they want to be seen as individuals.

Gerson: Ivana, I really did not know all

that about hipsters, it seems to me a very
interesting trend, I think we will always
have this group of young people who
value independent thinking, fashion and
culture. But like all trends, it will change
and evolve. Friends, now we will go to

Erick: The program that

keeps you informed with the latest
issues of the technological world.
Gerson: Of course. Erick, you have
probably heard the phrase: “Internet
of things”, better known as “IoT”.
It's a phrase we hear a lot today, and
experts say that this latest
revolution in technology will
change our lives in important ways.
But what exactly is it and how will
it affect us?

Erick: IoT is the technology that

allows any physical object, say, a
refrigerator, television, the air
conditioner or the lights in your
house, to be controlled from your
cell phone by text or voice message
through a Wi-Fi network. And let
me tell you, that's not all. The
greatest application of "IoT" occurs
when they are connected with
sensors. And well, that's when it
happens ...

Gerson: ... magic happens!

Exactly, but briefly explain many of
our dear listeners and I include
myself. What exactly are sensors,
dear friend?

Erick: In simple terms, it is a

device that is capable of detecting
external stimuli. That is, they allow
us to capture information from the
physical environment that
surrounds us, we are talking about
temperature sensors, gas sensors,
motion sensors, environmental
noise sensors, water level sensors,
heart rate sensor, blood pressure
sensor, etc. .
etc. There are sensors of everything
you can imagine and from there
come the great applications that can
be developed.
Gerson: For example, you could
have a central heating system that Information about

when you are not there. Or you
could have a washing machine or a
car, the built-in computer of which
could go online when
you develop a fault and you could
look up local repair companies,
then book a service after checking
your journal for the appropriate
dates.

Erick: And what concerns me too

is privacy.
Who will have access to our
personal data and what will it
be used for? That will be a
big concern for a lot of
people, I'm sure.

Gerson: Yes, he will do it.

Privacy is a big issue, and
security too, because all
connected devices can be
hacked.

Erick: Yes. Hack your computer,

or your refrigerator, it's bad, but
imagine if your car or insulin
pump got hacked, now it's a scary
thought!

Gerson: It is! But I think there

will be ways for people to protect
their privacy and security. I think
what's more of a real concern is
how much space all this data will
take up on the internet. It could
really slow down people's
broadband.
Erick: It is very true. But hey,
we'll see.
