IWE course, Standard Route, 11th batch (Online classes)

November 2020 – May 2021
Eligibility:
For IWE course the minimum qualification is a degree in Engineering (BE or Equivalent) and desirable
qualification is 2+ years of experience in any manufacturing industry with welding as a significant
component.
For this batch Cornerstone is not offering IWT course, where Diploma in Engineering is the minimum
qualification

Application Procedure:

1. BE degree certificate (do not send mark sheets)
2. SSC i.e 10th class certificate (for Date of birth)
3. Experience certificate if any ( for 2 years is enough)
4. Filled in application form (download from our website www.cornerstoneacad.com)
Upon examining the above documents, eligibility of the candidate will be assessed and the same
will be informed to the candidate. He may pay the registration fee and send the details to us by
email so that admission in to the 11 batch IWE course (Online) will be confirmed
(Bank account details given below)

Conduct of Classes:
Dates: 18th November 2020 to 16th May 2021, (24 weeks)
Timings: Online Classes will be held on 5 days a week i.e from Wednesday to Sunday as per the
following timings:

Wednesday to 7.00 – 8.00 8.10 – 9.10 9.20-10.20 3 hours per day

Sunday PM PM PM 15 hours per week
Extra classes/ internal tests/ discussions on assignments/Q&A sessions will be arranged on
Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays as and when necessary. Prior notice will be given about
these extra classes. The above 3 hours may be divided into 2 sessions: 7.00-8.30PM and 8.45-
10.15 PM based on the topic and teacher’s convenience

 Classes will be conducted online by the faculty who will also provide the Power Point
presentations for the reference of students.
 Doubts can be clarified in the class / by email / WhatsApp /during Q&A sessions.
 Students need to arrange for themselves a suitable Desktop/laptop with compatible OS and
processor, video/audio gadgets and recording devices/software, and some important books as
Library facility is not available. We will be using a licenced version of ZOOM platform.
 Internal tests on a biweekly basis will be held and Q&A will be discussed during special classes to
be held on Mondays/Tuesdays/Sundays
 15 hours per week X 24 weeks = 360 hours (Online Classes)
 A minimum of 90% attendance is compulsory

Lab classes: 22nd May 2021 to 31st May 2021 (8 Days X 8 hours = 64 hours)
Compulsory contact classes: As per the regulations of IIW –ANB it is necessary for the IWE standard
route candidates to attend a minimum of 80 classes (20% of total theory classes) as contact classes.
This condition can be fulfilled by attending regular classes for 2 weeks (12 days X 7 hours=84 hours) to
be held during June 2nd to 14th 2021 (12 days X 7 hours = 84 hours)
Final Examinations: 19th June 2021 to 27th June 2021 (All 4 modules + Oral examination)
Candidates must plan to be present in Chennai during the period from 22th May 2021 to 27th June
2021

The dates for lab classes and final exams are subject Covid based Government rules prevailing at that
time in India & Tamilnadu state and approval from IIW-India ANB.
