What’s In

1. I will definitely share it for the reason that it might be helpful to others. I will include in the
information how will it be done, what could be the possible effect and when will it be beneficial
to use to.
2. Usually when my relatives visit in my home, it is my responsibility to entertain them. I first make
sure to make them feel comfortable at home and then I start chitchatting with them. Most of
the time I share my experiences at school.
3. When selling, you must first introduce what product it is. And then after that, make sure to give
information about its benefits. Customers always look for products in which they can benefit.
Lastly, the price in which the price should be worthy enough for the benefits of the product you
are selling.

What I have learned

1. When it gives information and knowledge about certain topic that needs to be discussed.
2. When it entertains or it provides audience with amusement.
3. When it argues about a certain topic that influence one’s beliefs, decisions, and actions.
4. In order to effectively deliver a message or give relevant knowledge.
5. But it can’t be persuasive and entertaining since persuasive speech talks about serious matters
and give points into someone’s stand about a certain topic.
What I can do

Task 1

Lack of sleep is linked to a number of unfavorable health consequences including heart disease, type 2
diabetes, and depression. Some psychiatric conditions can cause sleep problems and sleep disturbance
can also exacerbate the symptoms of many mental conditions including depression, anxiety, and bipolar
disorder.

Research suggests that the relationship between sleep and mental health is complex. While sleep has
long been known to be a consequence of many psychiatric conditions, more recent views suggest that
sleep can also play a causal role in both the development and maintenance of different mental health
problems.1

In other words, sleep problems can lead to changes in mental health, but mental health conditions can
also worsen problems with sleep. Lack of sleep may trigger the onset of certain psychological conditions,
although researchers are not completely certain of the underlying reasons for this. Because of this
circular relationship between your sleep patterns and your mental state, it is important to talk to your
doctor if you are having problems falling or staying asleep.

Task 2

A guy goes to a pet shop, looking for the perfect Christmas gift for his wife. After browsing the puppies
and cats for a while, he asks the store-owner for advice.

“Oh, have I got the perfect gift for you!” the store-owner responds, taking him to the corner of the shop.
There, is a beautiful green and white parrot, with red trim.

“You think I should get her… a parrot?” the man says.

“Oh, this isn’t just any parrot. This here is Chett, and he’s a special parrot. Watch this.” The store owner
pulls out a lighter and puts the flame under the parrot’s left foot. Immediately, the parrot starts to sing
“Silent Night.”

“Wow!” say’s the man. “Can he do anything else?”

The store-owner nods, moving the lighter to Chett’s other foot. As soon as the flame touched his claw,
Chett burst out into a hearty rendition of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.”

The man, delighted, purchases the bird immediately and brings him home. Christmas day rolls around,
and he presents Chett to his wife. With his own lighter, he shows off the parrot’s wonderful singing.

“That’s amazing! Do you know what happens if you put the lighter in the middle?” she asks.

The man, having not considered this possibility, shrugs and pulls the lighter back out. Flicking it on, he
held it in between the parrot’s feet. To his surprise, the bird started singing again:

“Chett’s Nuts roasting, on an open fire…”

Task 3

Modern technology has reshaped the landscape of communication. With the advent of Web 2.0, the
way people communicated online shifted, moving in a direction that is more user-driven and interactive.
Tools that were once considered cutting edge have now become commonplace and have new
competitors hot on their heels.

The rise of these tools has brought about one of the most fundamental changes in the last decade — the
rise of remote learning. There are numerous definitions of remote learning, most of which contain
technology of some sort. However, the practice is implemented differently depending on the institution
or platform you use. Generally, technology is used to facilitate one and two-way interaction over a
platform that delivers educational content. While the concept of “distance learning” had existed
earlier — and experienced a surge in the 90s, with the advance of online technology — only relatively
recently have we reached a place where technology is being implemented with great success.

Furthermore, as the global climate crisis and health pandemics threaten the continuity of education;
remote learning has become even more relevant today. By leveraging technology, schools, universities
and corporate can minimize interruptions to education and training in uncertain times — like the
current COVID-19 crisis.

With the advancement of technology, we are in a better position than ever to provide holistic, high-
quality education in manners that exceed the borders of traditional, physical classrooms. To keep up
with the demands of a rapidly-changing world, to ensure the continuity of education and to prepare for
future disruptions and adversity, it is important to look to remote learning as more than just a stopgap
measure for the current times.
