Mini-Activity 01

Question: You can work individually or group up (3 people max) and think of an
actual situation that you have experienced or witnessed how the lack of scientific
knowledge leads to misconception and misapplication.

Answer: We all know that “science” play a major role in our society. When it
comes to new ideas, inventions, and experiments, that we all use nowadays. It
also leads us to curiosity; and it seeks for truth about nature. A process that
determined by observations, hypothesis, measurement, analysis, and
experimentation. As what Albert Einstein, has said; “Science” is the attempts to
make the chaotic diversity of our sense experience correspond to a logically
uniform system of thought.” (1940)
TO-SCIENCE-TECHNOLOGY-AND-SOCIETY) and a spirit of a nation events that has
given birth to science. But most of us sometimes we don’t normally acknowledge
science. Just like what I have witnessed watching the KMJS in GMA. Regarding
our superstitious beliefs; about the Engkantos, the Warlock (Mangkukulam)
casting a curse to someone whom they hatred the most. And by when others
complain that they felt something pain in their bodies. Others would say that the

their been Course (Kinulam). They don’t usually go to the hospital to seek for
remedy for their pain. Instead, they tend to treat from the “Herbulario”
(Albularyo) which could affect their Disease or worst. Second is from our school
Mostly, in Laboratory rooms; When teachers provide instruction on concepts in
various experiments, they are teaching students who already have some pre-
instructional knowledge about the topic. Student knowledge, however, can be
erroneous, illogical or misinformed. These erroneous understandings are
termed alternative conceptions or misconception.

chemical samples then that could affect everyone once they inhaled. I also
remember the time when I was helping my mom, at our store; one day I was
helping one of our costumer suddenly at my side theirs a lightbulb and starting to
spark and it looks like its gonna explode. My mom actually place an electric
current alarm in case of fire emergency. surprisingly, it didn’t work thankfully one
of her employee was brave enough to switch off the power, good that nobody
got hurt. So it is important for us to have enough Knowledge in Science and seek
for the real Experts, so that we can avoid or to Control this misconception and
misapplication problem.
