Normal Mode
In normal mode switches 6 to 1 are ignored by the MCRW device firmware
and only one card reader is present in the system.
Burn-in/Replica Mode
In burn-in/replica mode switches 3 to 1 are used to select the link address
where the MCRW resides in the system. Up to eight MCRW can be present
during burn-in mode, occupying link addresses 1 to 8.
NOTE: When the MCWR modules are fitted with the Enhanced Card Drive
(ECD) the following observations should be made:
The card may move slower and vibrate slightly during accept and eject
cycles. This action is normal.
ADJUSTMENTS
This section details the adjustments that can be made to the MCRW.
NOTE: If data is written on to track 3 of the ISO speed test card, it cannot
be used again for speed tests.
MOTOR SPEED
Adjust as follows:
Using the level 1 diagnostics, run the speed test inserting the speed test
card into the MCRW
Check the M-status returned as shown in the following table. If other than
24 adjust VR1 on the MCRW control board to obtain correct status
Eject card.
M-Status Meaning
22 Speed too fast
23 Speed within +3%
24 Speed within ±1%
25 Speed within -3%
26 Speed too slow
3. Insert the ST-SW test card into the MCRW until the actuator arm of SW1
is in contact with position B of the test card.
4. Check the meter indicates continuity.
5. If necessary, loosen the screw securing SW1 and position the switch to
obtain the correct indication on the meter
6. Tighten the securing screw.
7. Withdraw the test card until the switch actuator arm is in contact with
position A of the test card.
8. Check that the meter indicates open circuit.
9. If necessary repeat steps 3 to 8 as required.
10. Disconnect and remove the meter.
11. Reconnect CON G to the MCRW control board.

DC MOTOR
The outer edge of the dc motor should clear the back pad roller by a minimum
of 0.2mm (0.008in.).
Adjust the position of the dc motor as follows:
1. Loosen the screws securing the motor.
2. Move the motor away from the pad roller to obtain the required clearance.
3. Tighten the motor securing screws.

FILM BELT
The outer and inner edges of the film belt should be a minimum of 0.4mm
(0.016 in.) from the outer and inner edges of the flywheel as the flywheel is
rotated in both directions.
Adjust the film belt as follows:
1. Loosen the motor securing screws (refer previous diagram).
2. Adjust the dc motor angle adjustment Allen screw, as required, to obtain
the correct setting.
3. Tighten the motor securing screws.
FACIA
If there is a significant gap between the throat of the card reader and the fascia
moulding (refer diagram) the card reader can be adjusted forward to meet the
fascia.
INTERFACE CONNECTIONS
Interconnections between the MCRW and SDC interface including the +24 V
input are shown in the following diagram.
J5
INTERNAL CABLES
The MCRW internal connections are shown in the following diagram.
NOTE: 1. SW1 is shown with a card not present in the MCR entry slot.
