Statement of the Problem

The study was to describe selected PE teachers’ experiences and perspectives regarding online
PE teaching, and to provide insights into the daily instructional practices of online PE teachers.

This study contributes to the literature and conversations about teaching high school
physical education and sets the stage for further research in teaching online physical education.
The study assists online PE teachers due to this pandemic, in understanding what teachers think
about the rewards and challenges of online teaching.

In order to describe PE teachers’ instructional practices and perspectives regarding online


PE teaching, the following research questions guided the study:

1. To determine the profile of the respondents who is addressing the challenges of teaching
physical education in new normal education system in selected high school at Taguig City:
1.1 Age
1.2 Gender
1.3 Adress
1.4.Civil Status

2. What are the daily instructional practices of participating online high school PE teachers?

3. What educational theories (implicit or explicit) guide these teachers’ online teaching of PE?

4. How do these online PE teachers enhance student learning, physical activity participation, and
successful course completion?

5. What student outcomes, in terms of learning and attitudes toward learning, do these teachers
perceive or assess as a result of their practices and perspectives about teaching PE online?
