PART II - SCHOOL GENERAL GUIDELINES
As a JUSTINIAN community, our concern is always for the well-being of all our students and employees. We want to
ensure them when we are preparing and planning for the “new normal” in education by exploring alternative
instructional delivery methods.
This plan will be updated as we learn and continue to explore this new method of learning. There will likely be some
new challenges along the way as we all adjust to our new circumstances. In the same way that students and families
will need time to adjust to the new learning environment, so will our staff. We are committed to support every learner
and will do so while keeping students and families informed. We ask for your understanding, support and partnership
as we move forward with the best of intentions.
Considering that face-to-face instruction will not be safe at this time of COVID-19 pandemic, FR. JUSTIN
RUSSOLILLO SCHOOL OF DAVAO will adopt the Online Distance LearningProgram for its students in Pre-School
and Grades 1-10 from August 3, 2020 to April 30, 2021.
How will the pupil and the parents know what to do each day?
A schedule guides the pupils and parents on daily tasks. Detailed instructions are also provided in each online
classroom with corresponding learning resources to study and work on as well as the links to online resources.
Page 4
Lessons are delivered using the Learning Management System (LMS). LMS is software capable of administering e-
learning courses and online examinations and analyzing student performance data. It is complemented with a wide
variety of formats in order to cater to different learning styles. Some examples of delivery are online face-to-face
discussion through Zoom or Google Meet, videos, PowerPoint presentations accompanied by teacher voiceover,
interactive labs and external websites, online articles, along with other interactive tools.
Will the pupils be sitting in front of a computer all day?
Not at all. The pupils will have a half-day online class with an average of 3 hours and 30 minutes in the morning and
every day from Monday to Friday. In the afternoon, they do some of the essential works offline such as reading
books, solving math problems on paper, drawing, and conducting several activities.
Does the school require the pupil’s attendance online?
Yes. The subject teachers will check the pupils’ attendance in the morning and afternoon. The students are required
to log-in morning and afternoon in order for them to access the platform. This is also to monitor pupils’ participation
in individualized online instruction and in guided online instruction.
How are the assessments performed?
Assessments are done through a variety of formats; there are quizzes, tests, discussions, and assignments that our
teachers use for assessment. Pupils will be required to appear on video to take the assessments.
Does the subject still require textbooks?
All subjects still require textbooks since they are relevant to the pupil’s learning while at home. The presentation of
the concepts and the exercises in the textbooks are easy to follow even while the pupil is studying independently..
Textbooks will be used for back up reading and will serve as their workbooks. Whenever necessary, teachers will
also give printed worksheets .
What is the minimum Internet speed required the run the system?
The system can be accessed with the Internet speed of at least 10mbps. Although, the higher the better especially
when using the video conferencing tool.
What about those students with Limited Internet Access or without gadget?
For those who lack access to the internet or whose parents opted for their children not to use online due to personal
reasons, teachers will assist students by giving individual tasks using their textbooks and providing them a separate
schedule.
1. Textbook
Page 5
2. Teachers will assist the students by giving individual work activities and independent
schedule.
The school will continue to communicate to parents/ guardians/ students important messages and notices sent
through E-mail address. Suggestions for maintaining our connection as a community are welcome.
C. STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish daily routines for engaging in learning experiences (e.g. start at 7:30 AM each day)
If possible, identify a comfortable, quiet space in your home where you can work effectively and
successfully.
Get dressed for the day. School uniform is not required.
Monitor the established lines of communication with your teacher(s), to check for announcements and
feedback.

certain access to online learning and, in extreme cases, additional consequences.
Comply with the School’s Policies and Procedures including the Appropriate Use of Information
Technologies Policy.
D. PARENTS’ ROLE
The parents are required to assist the school by:
1. Assuring the child’s daily attendance to online classes and that he/she does not browse social networks etc.

F. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
H. SCHOOL DISCIPLINE
The discipline system is an integral part of Justinian education. This is founded on the idea that
educational goals, aims and objectives can be realized if there is order and discipline, cooperation and
sensitivity to others. Because of this students are expected to behave in a manner that speaks well of our
school. Discipline is looked upon as a very important training towards self-control and character formation.
A. Absences:
Regular attendance is required of all students. Attendance is counted from the first day of regular classes
regardless of the date of the student’s enrolment.
D.O. 11, s, 2011- Amendments to the 2010 Revised Manual of Regulation for Private Schools in Basic
Education.
A pupil/student who incurs absences of more than twenty percent (20%) of the prescribed number of class or
laboratory periods during the school year or term should be given a failing grade and given no credit for the
course or subject. Furthermore, the school head may, at his/her discretion and in the individual case, exempt
a pupil/student who exceeds the twenty percent (20%) limit for reasons considered valid and acceptable to
the school. Such discretion shall not excuse the pupil/student concerned from responsibility of keeping up
with lesson assignments and taking examinations when indicated. The discretionary authority is vested in the
school head, and may not be availed of by a student nor granted by a faculty member without the consent of
the school head.
Page 7
Habitual tardiness especially during the first period in the morning and in the afternoon shall not be allowed.
Teachers concerned shall call for the parent or guardian of the concerned student.
Note: COMMUNICATION in the “new normal” can be made through E-mails, Cellphone.
1) When a student is absent, an excuse letter from the parent/guardian must be sent to the Classroom
Adviser.
2) Absences or tardiness do not excuse the student from any homework or class work unless due to
illness.
3) A Student who has been sick must first obtain medical certificate from their doctor before being allowed
to join the class.
4) A request letter must be sent to the Class Adviser for early dismissal or special permission signed by
the parents or guardian at least one day before the requested date of excuse or as an urgent need
arises.
B) TARDINESS
1) All students are expected to Log-in at the JRSD LMS website (https://fjrschool.com) at 7:30 AM and
12:30 PM (Please refer to the schedule of each class.)
2) Synchronous Class starts at 8:00 AM.A 15 minute late from the start of classes is considered
TARDY/LATE.
3) Five times of unreasonable/habitual tardiness within a month will be given a weight of one day absence
and corrective measures as sanction.
C) Cutting Classes
1) Cutting classes is strictly prohibited. Any student who violates this rule shall be dealt with accordingly and
the parent or guardian will be notified immediately.
2) Any student who cuts class three (3) times will not be readmitted unless the parent or guardian meets with
the School Principal.
Since the school has adopted the online mode of conducting classes, we find it opportune to present the JRSD Code
of Conduct for Online Learning, as a supplement to the existing Student handbook, focusing more on the “new
normal” that challenges everyone to embrace.
Help establish and maintain a positive and healthy online learning environment by observing respect,
cultural sensitivity and politeness in dealing with peers and teachers all the time.

focusing on the given topics;

unless it is a collaborative group task, and on the allotted time;
be on time in all Online Classes and inform their teachers if they cannot attend or late in attending the
class for any reason;
Observe proper decorum by wearing appropriate attire. It may not be the school uniform, but neatly and
properly. Refrain from wearing sando, revealing tops, skimpy shorts and other inappropriate attire

The students of Online Learning at Fr. Justin School take their classes over the internet. In the virtual environment,

eliminated altogether, be disciplined in an appropriate manner. These types of misconduct include: CYBER
BULLYING AND HARASSMENT
Harassment is prohibited between members of the community, including communication of any form between
students, faculty and/or staff, parents and any third party directly or indirectly.

students of a written, verbal or electronic expression , or a physical act or gesture, or any combination therof, directed
at another student (or teachers), that has the effect of actually causing or placing the latter in reasonable fear of
physical or emotonal harm or damage to his property; creating a hositle environment at school; infringing on the
rights of another, or materially or substancially disrupting the education process (cfr. Sec.2, RA 10627). These acts
are collectively caled “cyber bullying” when committed online ( cfr. Se. 2-D, RA 10627). This covers social bullying,
aiming to belittle another individual or group or gender-based bullying that humiliates another on the basis of
perceived or actual sexual orientation and gender identity (cfr. Sec.3, B-1, RA 10627, Implementing Rules). Any
