No sooner (QKHT) had + S + V3ed than (QKD, không đổi)
Lưu ý:
- Xác định v1 và v2.
- Đảo ngữ v1, v2 giữ nguyên.
Sau khi ………………………….. thì …………………………
Ví dụ: I started feeling sick (V2) immediately after I ate the
shrimp (v1).
=> No sooner had I eaten the shrimp than I started feeling sick.
=> Hardly had I eaten the shrimp when I started feeling sick.
Ví dụ 2: Linda came back home soon after her mother finished
cooking dinner.
=> No sooner had her mother finished cooking dinner than
Linda came back home.
=> Barely had her mother finished cooking dinner when Linda
came back home.
Soon/ immediately/ at once: ngay tức thì + after => Khi
chuyển sang cấu trúc đảo ngữ No sooner thì bỏ

2. (Chưa đảo ngữ, cấu trúc gốc) It was not until…. That
…… (Cho đến khi …………….. thì………………..)
Structure:
It was not until (mốc thời gian (năm)/ câu ) that (điều kiện
tiên quyết) + S + V2/ed ….

Ví dụ 1: No one could leave the stadium until 2.30.

=> It was not until 2.30 (mốc thời gian) that everyone could
leave the stadium.
Ví dụ 2: I couldn’t finish my project until Mark helped me.
=> It was not until Mark helped me that I could finish my
project.

Đảo ngữ: Not until

It was not until (mốc thời gian (năm)/ câu ) that (điều kiện
tiên quyết) + S + V2/ed ….
=> Not until (mốc thời gian (năm)/ câu ) [giữ nguyên] did/
was/were + S + V (nguyên mẫu) …….
Ví dụ 1: It was not until all the seats were full that the movie
began.
=> Not until all the seats were full did the movie begin.
Ví dụ 2: The boys didn’t stop talking until the teacher came.
=> Not until the teacher came did the boys stop talking.
